Ya know different flavor, but the Cadillac CT5 V Blackwing has been catching my eye lately.

The CT4 v blackwing is pretty ridiculous for the price as well. The aftermarket and tuning options are abundant (similar to the Shelby Mustangs). They are already fast and it doesn’t take much to make them stupid fast!

But here is the car I really want

RS6 Avant? Those are cream your pants sexy.

NGL, the Blackwing with a manual transmission and carbon ceramic brakes is a fantastic car, and if I had the room and the need, I'd get one. But being in NYC, I opted for the one-car solution:

Judgemental, politically correct, left-wing people tend to drive that fast yet dull shit.

Oooo… noice! One of my small regrets in life was going for a new $40k 2017 Subaru Outback and not realizing that the 4runner TRD Pro in cement grey was just a tiny bit more expensive. The 4runners from 2017 still sell for like $40k, my outback, worth like $10k… but the outback had been great and awesome on roadtrips/in the snow. C’est la vie.

Anyways, I always have a slight tinge of jealousy seeing these beauts out on the road, still prefer these over the new gen as well, and the TRD off road is the way to go.

It's crazy how much the new TRD pros go for.

Dude, I really hate you right now - lol.

That’s is absolutely sick. Love that color too. It’s a IYKYK flavor!! If I won the lottery tomorrow, the RS6 Avant would be in my driveway by dinner time :cool!

How is it driving in NyC though?

The manual blackwing is a sick car as well. Coach of my son’s baseball team as the CT5v blackwing with the carbon package and ceramic breaks. It just sounds pissed off. I love it!

Those sports wagons are sexy. I considered one heavily back when we were mostly driving SUVs.

Well, because I live in NYC, I went the better part of 25 years without a car—tbh, still I don’t have a need for a car in the city. So I don’t really ever drive it solely from point-to-point in NYC. It pretty much stays in the garage except weekends when I’m leaving the city (which is fairly frequently). NGL, Audri is fun to drive upstate.

But, because I am in the city, I made two conscious decisions when spec-ing her out:
  1. I opted for 21” wheels over 22”, so I’d have a bit more sidewall to absorb the pothole minefields and bad roads in the city. The 22” are cool, but don’t really provide any performance boost.
  2. I chose a more subtle color so it didn’t scream what it is (as you said, truly a IYKYK situation). I do get a kick when someone spots the badge and gives me a nod, though.
Do I wish I had a flashy color? Sometimes, but not often. I like that I don’t stand out—wolf in sheep’s clothing and all that. Lol

The CT5v is an insane car. Great engine, sounds amazing, and with a manual and ceramic brakes it is just bananas.

FYP

Oh hell ya. I love the E63 wagon as well and could argue it has the better motor over the RS6. But, the RS6 just kills it on sexy from every angle.

But make no mistake, I’d drive it - lol!

My dream car besides a G wagon AMG is an E 55 estate. I almost won one in an auction before I was outbid. It’s because of their rarity that their secondary market value is higher than the E 55 sedan which I owned before.

The RS6 has such a strong stance, almost angry - I just love it. I bet it is a blast to drive upstate.

I was seriously looking at the ct4 blackwing manual last year, but just wasn’t a good time to buy. They had a killer deal on one locally, but it had a really loud and kinda tacky color scheme (probably why it was a killer deal - lol)

I'm honestly kind of stuck in my Tesla for now because it's a reliable car and the values have tanked, so selling it or trading it in would not be great.

Buddy of mine ordered a blackwing. I don't get it as he already has a GT3 Touring, M2, and one owner blue 2001 Z3M coupe. He has a real thing for manuals. Maybe he just wants some variety.

I'm trying to find an F12 the wife will let me buy.
Honestly, I’d take the Blackwing over both bimmers any day. The Blackwing would be the biggest HP out of all them. Big ass V8, and could easily add a couple hundred HP without engine surgery.

The GT3 is sweet, but a 2 person car really. The Blackwing is a monster that likes to eat if you want it to, or not if you don’t.

Personally, I don’t think either of those BMW’s is in the same league IMO. Plus the Blackwing is manual. In a quickly dwindling mkt, that’s huge!

I’ve never owned an automatic car (well, one for 8 months in my early 20’s - lol). Big reason why I’m still driving what I have vs something newer.

I was itching hard last year and almost bought a Blackwing, but had a feeling we were heading for a reset. Was hoping that might bring some better deals in 2025. Well, that idea went to shit - lol.

F12 - yes please.
