Hello all,

I’ve tried searching on some threads, but I can’t seem to find the answer. What’s the typical lifespan of Royal Poker Chips? Should they easily last ~10 years? How often is oiling needed to prevent breaks and degradation? I’m planning to purchase a tournament set and wanted to know before fully investing. I plan to only buy 43 mm CC chips in the future (and possibly ceramic 43’s).

I haven’t purchased a set yet. But I’m planning to host every 2-6 weeks. Depends on schedule. Every 2 weeks might be pushing it for everyone.

It's not. Oiling does make the colors pop a bit more, but doesn't lengthen the lifespan.

While there was some issues with earlier China Clays crumbling after a few years, there hasn't been any reports of the newer generation of CCs having this issue. The Royals are one of the most recent CCs made, so I would think that they should last as long as you plan to use them. Daily casino use? Maybe not. Home games every week or two (or six)? Odds are your lifespan will be shorter than theirs.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I just order some Royal Chips and Monaco Chips from Apache. I’m happy with them to the point that I want to order a set.

You meant longer lifespan, right?
