This was over almost an hour ago.

I believe these should be going to @mannix @ $67 per rack.

I agree but waiting on time stamps to push the point if it works out that way.

Time stamps are shown above. Just hover over the "x minute ago" for timestamp.

Nothing ambiguous, there was no bid to extend the time. So it ends at 12 PM eastern, the bid that comes in after the clock hits 12 PM eastern doesn't count.

Over either way now but I still think the 68 was late

Also apparently I need to reed the rules more as the last two bids where not valid either my bad on that one

I was thinking due to a level of ambiguity on the time stamp situation not showing the he exact second the bid enters the thread and the “5” minute extension clause then triggering more time that as long as as a bid is not more than six minutes by the way the time stamp works on either extending the auction or being the final/winning bid.

Also taking into account what the intention of the bidders is, it is easier to determine a winner when someone obviously gives up.

I say $90.36 is the winning bid.

@Tommy your ruling would be much appreciated. This is two weeks in a row I have had this issue come up. It was settled in the manner I described.

This issue comes up often; it’s best to wait for the timestamps to come in.

Pretty clear that $67 is the winning bid based on the auction rules.

(If you are actively bidding, don’t play games trying to wait until the last second to place a valid bid)

Not saying that’s what happened here, just free advice because lots of people get burned. If I place a bid one second before the minute changes, even some bids made subsequent to my “4 minutes ago” bid could end up being invalid.

yeah looks like the bid at 11:55am is valid

cause the next bid shows 12:00pm which was the closing time

the 12pm bid would have had to come in at 11:59am for it to extend

Ya the 73 and 75 where late as well not that it should matter at that point but thats why trying to push to the limit of the bid is a risky game.

What time stamps do we need?

Why do we need mods?

There was a bid at 11:55 (or 8:55 pacific). That does not extend the auction and it ends at noon.

There was a bid placed sometime during the noon minute. That bid is late and does not count.

Auction over at $67.

What am I missing?

It's an extra 23 a rack i get not wanting to lose out on that but the rules are stated at the beginning of the auction.

I called it the other way last weekend. If this not correct clarification is needed. I read it as anything within 5 minutes of ending time of 12:00 eastern so 11:55 and any bids there after within a time stamp no more than 5 minutes after the last bid.

I think this one needs to be called by the commish @Tommy

I may have liberalized the rules to much from what everyone is stating. I’m good with what ever the ruling is.

Only to assist since you're calling auctions and have a bunch running currently.

So it's not within 5 minutes, it's 1156 and onward would extend. Therefor, in this case, not extended:

So it ends at noon.

Therefor, this is not a valid bid:

Last valid bid made at 1155. No extension, no other bids placed before the end of the auction at noon eastern.

You can wait for mods and all that, just figured I'd explain to you exactly why it is the way it is with the winning big at $67.

Also I reiterate the intention part, once all but one of left bidding it makes it easier to determine a winner.

Are we being to technical with the rules and it is obviously not clear to everybody?

Ya examples 2 and 4 if you click the examples link in the rules list cover both issues specificly

If the correct answer is @mannix with a winning bid of $67, I’m fine with that. If that is the consensus that is the deal?

I want to be able to call all these the same way so my apologies on the debate. Like I said last weekend used the reasoning I laid out and no one objected.
