Feeling a little down since I missed out on that BCC limit set, so help me cure my blues with some retail therapy! Looking for a shaped inlay THC set that won't break the bank. I think that takes leaded chips out of the equation but I don't know enough yet to be sure.

Does not have to be mint or anything even close, casino used is fine as well. Have a lead on a PCA set from a great member down under (who's been very patient with me) but it's a bit out of my range so want to see my options before I shoot my shot.

Budget of around 1200-1500, but if that's not enough please do let me know. Saw a EJ set of around 600 chips go for $1000 in March, so that's what I'm basing my budget on.

Cheers

Edit: some more details below:

Cash stakes with a breakdown similar to this would be best, but I’m open to anything:

100 x .25/.50
1-200 x 1
3-400 x 5
1-200 x 25
20-100 x 100

And not interested in a mixed set unfortunately

I think just about all shaped inlays will be leaded

That's good info to have. So even the EJ set was leaded? I'm surprised at the price it sold then. I always assumed THC shaped inlay leaded chips were $4-10 each but then again I've only been looking at sets like @Gorbash s Royal Diamond available for trade.

I look at the @Gorbash Royal Diamond too. Its not a daily visit but weekly at least.

Most used chips don’t carry anywhere near the premium of sharp chips even if leaded

I’ve been looking at the empress secondaries as well but apparently the 1s are impossible to find.

I wanted old school casino used thc as well but will mix thc sets (and some harvested chips) and overlabel for consistency. Fill in with OG if and when I can and hope by going low and slow I'll get there without breaking the bank...

BUT if I were starting over I'd go mintish RHC instead. Home game use will never break through the top of the hat and they stack and handle great.

I second this. Mint RHC’s are so good, and I advocate for them every chance I get.

Yupppp. Just to get my new to me THC on the table I used live worn RHC that I could easily harvest for an all Paulson debut. The RHC handled and shuffled better than the shaped leaded THC. I was kind of annoyed as I believed the hype.

Apologies for thread derailment.

I have a mint WSOP HS Cleveland set already to use as a tournament set (if I ever host one lol). Granted they are 36mm but for me they are close enough to a mint RHC set that I wouldn't want a second one.

Not a problem! The more input the better

Buidling a mint & leaded RHC set is the cheapest way to weighted clay.
They are harder to find now but still great value

Definitely heresy, but I also prefer shuffling my RHC’s. Definitely in the minority.

I think leaded paulsons are amazing to shuffle regardless of mold including giant inlay or house mold. The formula is just that good honestly.
I may have too much oil or not enough or something else that makes them "stick" a little. Some of mine dont quite fall when shuffling as easy as I expect.

I only like oil to enhance appearance. I don’t prefer it for feel and have started only lightly oiling edges.

If I had to guess, I would say you have too much oil.

There isn't a problem with lead hype. Lead hype is appropriate. The problem is that you believed the oil hype.
