There are 100 known to exist. I had 21 of them, and sold 20 of them on PCF in one transaction for $6000.

If you’re building a Vineyards set and your home game puts $500s into play at some point during the game then it’s nice to have an original $500 barrel in your set. But I think at this point there’s probably only 2, maybe 3 barrels that are known to exist because some of the original 5 barrels have been broken up and distributed as singles, so if you want a barrel for your set you either have to find and obtain one of the 2 or 3 barrels or go the singles route, and buying the $500s as singles likely will be substantially more expensive than buying 20 chips in one transaction. The last single that auctioned on PCF went for like $430+ lol.
