So I host a micro stakes Game currently and want denoms of .05/.25/1/5 for my chipset of around 600 chips, there’s a couple things I want out of this set

- Bright Colors (nice edges preferably that are aligned!)
- Denoms listed on the chip
- Good looking inlay/label

That’s all I’m really looking for here. But I’ve come across a bunch of cross roads and am kinda unsure what to do, there’s some chips on Apache that have .05 denoms but I’m not a fan of the colors, if the Taj Mahal were labels instead I’d seriously consider relabeling them, but then I think, I can get semi-customs from BRPro for most likely cheaper since I don’t have to get labels if I wanted to relabel a chip. If you are aware of any chipsets that have these qualification please link me there

Ahhh…forget about the Tigers then…for that budget you’re better off looking at some of the ceramic chip options like Tangiers

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/tangiers-casino-exclusive-world-release.131080/

Or some of the other group sales they have for those Chinese ceramic chips.
Love the tangiers but I’m afraid the wait will get to me, I’m not a patient guy and I’m moving soon so I don’t think they’ll make it in time unfortunately

Welcome!

Ignore the Tiger folks, that’s their welcome to you ;)

There’s a bunch of options around your budget that should be in stock from apache, brpro and the pokerstore.

The milano’s might be your best bet:

https://www.thepokerstore.com/colle...400-milano-10-gram-pure-clay-poker-chips-bulk

Recommend you check some of @Hobbyphilic youtube videos- he’s pretty much done reviews on every chip available at your price range (if you don’t want to wait for some samples).

Your biggest issue will be finding chips with a 5c label, most all start at 25c and up. If you find a set you like, see if they can offer a custom 5c or non-denom label on a color.

Also, you might be able to find a decent starter set for less than 75c a chip, then you could get a table topper and some Copag plastic playing cards as well.

GL!

I’m in the exact same boat, and narrowed it down to 3 options. I’ve gotten samples of almost everything in that price range and I’m a big fan of Tina hybrid ceramics.

In order of preference, highest first…

1) Convince my game to move up to 0.25/0.25 and ditch the 0.05 chip
2) Buy a $5/$25$100/$500 set of Mirage chips from Apache, but use denoms for 100x cash value ($5 denom = 5 cents of real money)
3) Design a custom set and order during next Tina group buy (though I’m not sure I’m willing to wait a few months)

I like your post a lot of good info there, here is what I got, the range would actually be, up to $1.15 or down to .55

I think you can get a set of 600 Tinas for about 350, you might be able to pick up a set someone already has loved and ready to move on for slightly less.

BRPro's will be about 700 plus you'll need artwork

You could do Majestics (Apache Poker) with a custom label (top-notch Gear labels) for about 800

You might could find someone with a set of Nexgens and then commission labels for them, you might put out a want ad with a compelling back story and current state of the college community looking for brotherhood through small stakes poker. Photos and member quriks go over well, someone might heavily discount something for you, or offer you something that would otherwise go unseen or un-offered. Refrian from asking for free stuff, we've seen how that goes (poorly) not that you would, just making note.

I've done all three of these options, I really like the Majestics with custom labels best, and the BRPro's are great, I have some 47s I use with my 43 (all BRPro) that are the apple of my eye. For me, while plastic this budget option gives you the contrast of chip and label that really feels great. On the other hand fully customized chips with perfect color and inserts goes a long way as well (BRPro option).

BRPros: Highlight that Taj 47mm so fun!

Would you consider a set of custom ceramics?
Possibly, as long as I’m not spending too much over .75 a chip I’d like to keep it close to a dollar hopefully, I really like the semi custom option on brpro which you can put denoms of your choice on so that would fix my issue, the only problem is they don’t have molds and have unaligned edge marks

Sounds exactly like me lol, I’m really considering the second option it’d save not only a lot of money and the denominations would still make sense

Wow these are all beautiful, how do people come across nextgens, I’m a little bit of a newbie here on PCF, and those customs from BR look beautiful. I’ll definitely put an ad out

Finding Nexgens is an adventure! You will have to hope, dig, and get lucky, my friend! The issue is that they are no longer sold, or at least my version, and most consider the value too low to ship because it's more than the chip was initially sold for. It's not a premium chip, but I like them. While I can host a PL game with them, its really my 5 / 10 limit set

If you prefer not to wait you're pretty limited to classifieds section here or US vendors. Relabeling will drive your costs up (even moreso if you pay to have the labels applied instead of doing it yourself), if your chips are 50c ea relabels could easily add 50~100% more cost. If you need the chips soon but still want a full custom label down the line I would consider buying a set that fits your game needs for the time being, and reselling them once you're able to order some custom tina/chinese ceramics. Just be wary of the fact that reselling a set you're going to lose out on shipping costs and may not recoup full value. That and who knows what the tariff situation will look like by the time you've got an order for custom chips.

There are some sets on the classifieds that roughly fit your needs, but you may have already seen them:

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/8v-cc-set-with-bonus.129053/ (need labels)

Can't hurt to throw up a wanted post too.

It’s silly, but my game gets a kick out of pretending to be high rollers and saying “raise to 100” when we throw in $1.

The $5/$25/$100/$500 Mirage set is looking more and more tempting…

I have this set of Nexgens I could sell. It would be under your budget /per chip but you would have to take them all.

It’s a normal thing for someone to buy more than they need and sell the extras or trade them with someone to balance sets.
The site works better that way instead of you buying chips and we never see you again. That’s what eBay is for.

Less than an ideal option, but here it is anyway. I would sell you my Milanos for less than half your budget and the hit on value has already been absorbed by me. So, when you come up with a better/long term solution, you can resale them for what you paid with relative ease. Use the $5 chips as nickels, $25 chips as quarters, $100 chips as dollars and $500s as $5s. It’s not perfect, but it’s practical. If interested in the concept, we can discuss in DMs.

FWIW, I played at someone else low stake .25/.50 game last weekend that did this and it worked just fine.
