Truly great set, they’re looking great together! And touch of oil probably will bring their colour up as well!

I have a feeling we’ll start to seeing quite a few of those sets in this thread in upcoming days. :D
These do not need oil at this point. Just a good camera.

Got my set

Well, for better or worse I've finally jumped down the TRK rabbit hole after very purposefully avoiding it for the last few years. These Casbah's are a true pleasure to handle, but my bank account hates me for what I've already done...and it's only going to get worse. o_O

I've been trying to get one of every 'real' chip mold, so lots of eBay perusing and occasionally I find a gem!

Perhaps some of you saw this listing with a bit of obscure history. Handwritten note from Carl Stahl who owned Hunt Co along with some chips that might have been manufacturing samples. Two extra thick ones look more like checkers pieces or other game tokens that I was surprised to see in the listing.

These other chain molds show the differences, 4 total in Eisenstadt's guide.

Nice pick up! I actually think those chips and note were from Robert Eisenstadt's collection. I think the note was written by Robert Eisenstadt as he tended to document where he got the chips from. Likely he spoke to Carl on the phone. Here are a few examples of stuff I got from an auction of Eisenstadt's collection awhile back.

There’s something funny about the edge spots on those whites - they confuse my eyes and look blurry in a way that reminds me of those old 3d movies where you had to wear the red and blue classes. Do they do that in real life?
Cool chips!. Bright.
It’s funny that you said that, I had this same thought when I saw them; I don’t believe that was a planned effect.

On the camera they would start off focused but then appeared to be out of focus. Weird but very cool in person!!

Ah, that makes sense. I'll have to compare handwriting a bit, certainly could have been from Eisenstadt. I was able to pick up a few old engraved chips from his estate recently too.

Great pickup on the Breaknot! I've been looking but haven't seen any of those available yet. The OG pre-Burt poker chip!
