Camera Cheats (9 Viewers)

There are sites which will allow you to bypass the paywall. Which would be morally wrong, obviously, so you shouldn't do it. But if you were going to, you might use keywords like "archive" and "paywall" in the search engine of your choice. But that would be wrong, and so I am obviously not encouraging you to do that. If you DM me, I could maybe help you with a short list of sites to stay away from for your own moral well being.

Thought it was a freebie or would not have posted. I don’t have a subscription to wired or Apple News and did not sully my virtue in a back alley web location   Not sure why it is blocked for anyone.

Not sure either, this is the first time I've had wired do that to me. I mostly found out about such things because I refuse to pay for two subscriptions to the new york times cooking site and my wife keeps sending me recipes from there was threatening to send me a bunch of links I'd need to read. Allegedly.

It maybe blocked if outside the US? I read that article earlier today and it wasn't paywalled.

How do you get NYT recipes without paying? Asking for a friend who is a NYT subscriber but also refuses to pay twice.

That is a pretty neat trick. Thank you.

Blocked for me in Taiwan. Looks to be an Asia thing.

As for the article, casinos will soon have to start dealing with the "Euro Pitch". Very similar to how the Star Casino does it in Australia. I believe there already is a post about it on PCF somewhere, I'm pretty sure I posted my thoughts on that.

For me, there's a simple solution. No phones or electronic devices on the rail. Simple as that.

Edit: Link about this here by @Taghkanic

Not so simple. One of the cheaters had the camera installed in his clothes; others can use a micro camera mounted in a non-threatening functional pen, lighter, or other plain ordinary item.

Banning phones or 'electronic devices' does nothing to stop determined thieves.

Soon we'll be needing hidden camera detectors in casinos and home games. Very common in South Korea, although that's a completely separate issue.

Casino players don't need anything on the table, though. Phones, pens, lighters... simply keep stuff off the table. Small price for a secure game.
Also need to bar players from wearing rings/bracelets/watches, they could all be installed in them too.

It’s a little morbid but I could even imagine them being installed in a prosthetic arm/hand of some kind.

All a player would need to do is rest his prosthetic hand (or real hand with a ring/watch on) on the table when the dealer is pitching cards. Technology is nuts nowadays.

One had been installed in a ring - Lager Man size ring - but the ring was almost the size of a Super Bowl Style Ring.

I don't think you will be able to ban "Jewelry"

This has been known for about 2 years now. In Casino games and private games. The tech is accelerating.

One of the simplest counter measures (did not read the entire article - it kept playing ads in various windows) was to deal the cards like a Euro Dealer or Euro Pitch, dealing from a box or shoe and sliding the cards across the table.

But eventually - somebody will think of something else. This is to be excepted when large sums of cash are present and up for grabs.

I too, would like to know which sites to stay away from.
