*Under Construction* Broski's MS Rat Rod Set (1 Viewer)

So having only found PCF less than 2 months ago, I still really have no idea what I'm doing here. (Obviously) Wanting to put together a actual casino set dedicated to my home state of Mississippi with a focus on Gulf Coast casinos. Hurricane Katrina changed the landscape of the coast forever and I am hoping I can bring some of that back through this rat rod set. Long term plan is a set around 800 pieces with .25, 1, 5, 25, 100 to use for cash games .25/.25 up to 1/2 or 1/3 (maybe). Anyone that has MS extras, let me know. This will be a slow build as I already have one other project I'm working on at the moment. I'll keep the thread updated as we go along. Final breakdown I'm thinking

0.25 x 200
1 x 300
5 x 200
25 x 80
100 x 20

Here is where we are starting from. 31 down 769 to go. There are on about 85 white 1s that fit the bill, so there will have to be many duplicates. 5s, there are over 100 that I've looked at, so duplicates will abound here too. 25's will be a bit easier with over a hundred that I've seen, and 100s will be the easiest. I think.

Fracs are going to be the death of me on this set, and it seems like a common thread for builds I guess. There are only 5 yellow MS fracs and 7 orange MS fracs that are listed on ChipGuide. If that is the case, finding enough fracs might be nearly impossible. I thought I could use either a couple colors of roulette molds or I could pick up a bunch of Bud Jones roulettes like these Grand Casino roulettes below. What would you guys recommend, especially since I want to keep everything in MS?

I would recommend not doing a ratrod set. Just collect unique singles from these casinos so you are not mixing molds, and then maybe consider a full cohesive MS mixed set or even a custom set that is heavily influenced from your favorite MS casinos. If you love ratrod, ignore me, but I honestly think this is a perspective I should share with a new member.

Already started this at the request of the wife who is a born and raised Biloxi girl.

I already have an idea brewing for a Tina set, and depending on how hard this set decides to be to put together, there is always a chance I could scrap the idea. For now, I think it's doable

The Boomtown and Treasure Bay fracs are out there and not too hard to come by. I recently sold a rack of those Treasure Bay fracs. The hard part is that you need them all the same-ish color. There is a whole rainbow of fracs there. You need to figure out which color had the most available and easiest to come by and go that route.

Well a few new additions to the family in the last couple days. Went and played a little Pai Gow at Harrah's Gulf Coast and lost a bit but made it back up playing bubble craps and harvesting these.

Would have come out ahead on the night but I forgot to stop by the cage to cash these in. I'll either had back over and cash them in or they will likely be the most expensive chips in the set.

Left there and ran over to the Golden Nugget. No bubble craps or ETGs of any kind at that property and the Pai Gow is face down (BOOOOOO). Did manage to chat with a pit boss that offered to let me buy a hand full of 1s from one of the tables, and she said she has some old casino chips from before Hurricane Katrina at home. Said she would go home and look for them and for me to stop back by next week and she would give them to me for the collection. SWEET. Hope that comes through.

Last night, like a good degenerate, I found myself at the Hard Rock Biloxi back at the Pai Gow table. Thanks again to bubble craps and Casino Wizard craps for covering my other losses. Did leave with a few.

Mail man showed up today with a little eBay purchase,

and a PCF purchase.

All in all over the last couple days, we have added about 85 new members to the family with at least that many more on the way. This is gonna be fun, EXPENSIVE, but fun.

Brother-in-law was in town over the weekend, so ended up snagging a few from the Palace Casino(didnt get a photo), also, a few new additions arrived today thanks to the mail man.

These will be the temporary fracs for the set until I can aquire enough originals to play. Thinking .05 and .25, which would you choose for each denom?
