You have one of these? Please PM me!

You know someone who might? Tag them!

Thank you

Much more rare than a Dunes $25k. It's in the ChipGuide, it's in the ChipRack and more than likely that information came from Stupak himself. I don't see why a casino like Vegas World would need more than 11 of the $100k chips. If I remember correctly these specific chips were given to those that hit jackpots or something like that so they could take it to the cage and get cashed.

I don't remember if we've asked Stupak's widow specifically about these, but I remember she doesn't have any of them. So, I believe they are out there somewhere. Someone might have all of them, or they could be spread around the world. I'll be waiting to see one in person.

That’s a fair point. I’m just wondering if a company like Paulson might say “we’ll make a rack of them for you, but we’re not making eleven.”
On the other hand, I guess since we’re talking about cash chips, maybe they’d accommodate a customer who didn’t want to open themselves up to the liability of having many of those on hand.
I dunno.

Any Stupak chip concerns me in regards to rarity. So many made it out rather than be destroyed.

Had to be a rack made? Or at minimal a barrel to @upNdown point.

Jackpot chips make perfect sense. So maybe only a dozen to @Okku point.

Who knows, but as a collector I would always be cautious with Stupak chips if ur a rarity investment collector.

Yeah that's how I've always thought about how things worked. Although TRK did do plenty of orders for people with only 60 or 80 chips of a certain color. I'm sure Paulson worked differently, but you never know.

Probably easier to give someone a chip for $100k, direct them to the cage and make sure they got paid safely instead of giving them $100k in cash right there or a check and then having people around the casino eyeing them up.

They never got destroyed because it was before the time where gaming commission made it law and practice to destroy everything. Basically everything before 2000 something is out there somewhere. All of the casinos from the 50s-late 90s / early 2000s have their chips out there somewhere. They never got destroyed.

It wasn't until the early 2000s when things had to get destroyed. This means chips, tokens, dice, decks, anything that has value in the casino. They get a wood chipper, the head of the gaming commission and they stand there watching everything get destroyed. Hence the reason all the Trop chips from the 70s are out there, Dunes, Vegas World, Sands, Stardust all of that stuff never had to be destroyed.

So, yes it's an interesting game about rarity. I've always looked at it this way. Any of those chips whether they are a few bucks a piece or a few thousand a piece. They are out there. They always will be. Buy everything with a grain of salt that someone will probably have some more, a few racks or more. I've seen chips that are a few thousand a piece in a playable set... A single sells for a few thousand and there are racks of them. If you like a chip or a rack, buy it. If you're spending over $1k on a chip, just know that there's a chance that the value may not hold for a long time if a rack comes out and the value drops.

I seem to recall reading somewhere for audit purposes a casino has to consider the face value of all chips as a part of their assets. So a random rack of 100ks could have represented a 10M line on paper in terms of holdings and liabilities.

So the bellagio chips everyone goes crazy about, like the $100 claw, those were destroyed or no?

This is very true

Always thought Dunes survived bc of the story it was in the vault during the demo.

Great info Oscar. Thanks for sharing.

While we continue to derail this thread…even 10 racks of 1 specific chip…is only 1,000 chips. In a collectors hobby only 1,000 still seems rare.

How many Spider-Man issue 1 comic books out there? Tag a comic book collector. How many Jordan rookie cards?

I understand those hobbies are way more desired than chips. But ask yourself, a lot of people gamble, and in 15-20+ years there won’t be clay chips available like they are now imho.

Not saying it’s a sound investment bc ur cash should triple in 15 years, but just bullshitting on someone’s sales thread.

There's one person I could potentially think that might have some information about this chip so I could give them a call and see what they say later today at some point and get you guys some information.

“I had one and it has been sold. I have no idea how many were made or what they would have been used for. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.”

This is the information I got

Those are all destroyed because they switched chips in 2008. I'm thinking the law went into effect somewhere before 2005. Not exactly sure.
Someone at the show said 2012.

I have notched Cosmo high denoms from 2010 up to $5k denom.

Also I don’t have the Vegas World $100k nor want one if anyone wonders. It’ll cost $5k or more I think given high denom, scarcity, and the history behind it.

Thank you for that information! Very interesting. Appreciate you going out of your way to phone someone up.
