Hello,

What’s a good breakdown and buy in for an1/3 with rebuys?

Asking for a friend.

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...ut-a-cash-game-chip-set-5c-10c-to-5-10.30897/

100 $1s
300 $5s
100 $25s
60 $100s
---------------
+$10,000 bank

Or some breakdown. Play around with the numbers in the thread I linked and figure out what you want. Some $1/3 games play very low and buyins are $100, others have people regularly buying in several times for $300+ and will need very different chip breakdowns. This would be crazy overkill for some games, and others this would be lacking, really depends on player pool.

I I think he wants to do 400$ max buy-in… odd

a good buy in cap is x100 bb?
Personally I like to cap at 200bb, but to each their own.

He...who's he? Careful helping your friend if you're ordering for that big of a game. We're talking $4,000 on the table just to start if its a full ring.

I’m just relaying info but he already ordered chips and stuff, I told him to start smaller…

He's already ordered the chips? Lol alright, we're too late.

Go to Walmart and buy 50 "$100" chips for $15 dollars and slowly introduce them into the game, see him panic when he's cashing people out and short a few grand.
Yeah but his breakdown was weird so I hopped in here to check lol.
1s- 200
5s- 800
25s- 200

It just felt like he wants a big game without big denominations…

Some people here love the 5s, but no one here wants 200 ones at a 1/3 EXCEPT if hes planning to rake the game as it goes I guess? Is he pulling ones off as the night goes on?

$9k bank is okay but if people are buying in for $400, thats a little more than a rebuy a person. Turn half those 25s into 100s and you future proof it in a big way, but whatever works.

Definitely seems a bit short on bank assuming full ring $400 buyins. A rebuy each, and he's out of chips.

I'd add a rack of $100s, or 80/20 $100/$500.

Depending how aggressive is your players, I always try to suggest breakdown at around 600 chips

More passive player - lesser 3! 4!

$1 x 100
$5 x 300
$25 x 100-140
$100 x $40-60

More aggressive player and much deep stack - way more squeezing play

$1 x 100
$5 x 200
$25 x 200
$100 x 80
$500 x 20

Also if you have a dedicated dealer, it will be advise to have put more $1 in play too

Thanks, with this I got enough info to at least help him a bit, but in the end it’s all up to him… thank you all!

I like lots of chips on the table. More 5’s the better. The less higher demon chips in play seems to make people buy in more. $100 chips tend to become hoarded and the game slows down.
