Cash Game Need help with cash game breakdown (3 Viewers)

Looking for help with breakdown for cash game chips.

I'd like to be able to support 1 table games from .05/.10 to 5/10. 2 tables of BBotB style .25/.50 to 1/2 uncapped.

My thinking is that if CPC goes away, I want a set that will last for life. Also assume I will do a 2 chip non-denom limit set in addition.

What I'm thinking:
.05 - 100
.25 - 200
1 - 400
5 - 800
20 - 100 (big chip for small stakes games)
25 - 400 (work horse in 2/5 and up)
100 - 160
500 - 40

What do the breakdown geniuses think?

So, the 20, 100 and 500 will be oversized. This means I have 1900 39mm chips listed. Probably should round that to 2k?

Yep, I'd bump the $5s to 900 and call it a day. Everything else looks good to me.

If you get 100 more chips

Maybe get 100x25c because if you are playing 5c10c and 25c25c or 25c50c blinds you could be pushing it with 200x25c

For NE meet up purposes, I think you need to be able to accommodate 3 tables that could all be pretty deep. Plus you should account for potentially a few play over boxes and/or live chips that are currently not on any table. I would strongly consider increasing your $5s to 1000 or even 1200 (which would avg out to 4 racks per table). You may also consider upping your $1s to 500-600, thoughI don't think this is as important as the $5s

Also, many players might think its much cooler to play with the oversize $20s instead of the $25s, so I would consider adding at least another rack of those.

Lastly, I know you have always talked about the ND limit set, but If budget is a concern, then I may question whether its needed. If you decide to increase the number of $1s and $5s in your cash set to the numbers that I suggest above, then you may consider just adding another 1400 $1s and then you could spread almost any limit stakes without having to order 2000 or more ND chips.

I'd get 300 quarters (workhorse chip in your smallest game and allows for 1 rack per table in a 3 table meetup), 600 $1s, 1200 $5s, 200 $20, 200 $25, 200 $100, 50 $500, and because it's mad balla, 50 $1K.

That will allow you to spread pretty much any game we play. Add another 800 $1s (1400 total) and we can play anything up to 4/8 limit.

This would basically be my set plus 400 more $5s. I don't think you even need the 25s..you can play deep $2/5 with the set I'm describing here no problem. Just turn the additional $25s into $20s...so much easier for buyins and banking.

My set supports 4 tables fairly well and the gamble quotient is pretty high, so maybe this will also help. I've only had to sweat the distribution of $1's occasionally during DCS, so maybe an additional rack for that. Breakdown (including an add-on in progress but not relevant for assessment):

100 x 5c (lol, never seen the felt)
300 x 25c
500 x $1
1000 x $2 (limit games)
1100 x $5 (1000 seem fine, maybe less if 3 tables)
400 x $20
150 x $100 (a rack is plenty)
30 x $500 (we've had some singles in play but just for novelty)

@courage's breakdown looks damn near optimal (with one exception, noted below) to me for your stated needs, Chicken. I agree with @bergs that you should plan for 3 tables so 3 racks of fracs and 6 racks of $1s seem advisable.

Personally - assuming as you stated that this set is not part of the two-denom limit set you'll also create - I would toss the idea of getting both $20s and $25s. For big bet games, I would just get one or the other no matter the stakes.

As to my one exception, if you're legitimately wanting to plan for a full ring $5/10 big bet game, you might want to consider bumping your number of $20s/$25s. If you cap buy-ins at 200 BBs and account for 3 buy-ins per player, you'll need $60k total. I would hand out the 3 buy-ins as follows:

First buy-in:

20 $5s
40 $25s
9 $100s

Second buy-in:

40 $25s
5 $100s
1 $500

Third buy-in:
5 $100s
3 $500s

With the above, you'll need:

400 $5s
800 $25s
190 $100s
40 $500s

Not that 400 $25s isn't workable, but if you want the workhorse chips to play like workhorse chips - and even if you think you only need to account for 2 buy-ins per player - I would try to at least bump it up to 600 total.

Agreed for sure. I would go as far as saying we could play $1/2 uncapped and have essentially the same game. I think Chicken is just trying to inflation-proof his breakdown.

Yup. This. My assumption is that CPC may not be around forever, so I want to use these chips in the extended care facility playing with the other degens still barely kicking.
