Yesterday in the Introductions/Checkin forum I introduced myself as a new member of PCF. In that introduction I mentioned that my chip collection started when I took home a $2.50 chip from the Atlantic City Atlantis. This is that chip.

My first time gambling at a legit casino that wasn't a basement, garage, or dorm room was at Cache Creek as a college freshman. Back then it was a dry casino, u only needed to be 18 to gamble.
Can you imagine we were allowed to play $2 min bet blackjack with these yellow beauties? Oh man, fun times haha

When I first realized there were options better than dice chips and I started researching and found HPF this is the chip that made me decide to go with Pharaohs over everything else that was available back then.

My first chips sucked! But everyone in our little world thought they were the best.... because they had denoms on them

Most home games around 2000 (at least in our area) were using dice chips. One day decided to start teaching Brie to play poker and we found some modern versions of our chips and bought additional denoms, then started looking at what else was out there. Got into the slugged Monte Carlos, then the slugged 08 Casino Royales and serching for additional chips in that set brought us to PCF... the rest as they say "is history"

Brought it back from my one Vegas trip, had it in a drawer for a few years and rediscovered it after joining PCF.
Started building a set around it pretty much right away.

Still have it with me for important occasions like here in the ICU for the birth of my son.

Did you ever go to the Ultimate Bet Aruba event? I dealt it two years in a row but, for the life of me, I can't recall what the chips looked like.

Oh no. Not sure how these ended up in the market, but most of them did. Especially the 25’s

my first trip in USA was in august 2009, visiting parents in Boston. I had a day trip from Boston Chinatown to Mohegan Sun and took home a dollar chip.

3 months after, in november, I went in Malta. Visited Dragonara casino and got another couple singles.
