Wait....

Tennis balls in general. Got it. I thought we were debating a specific tennis ball.

my thoughts went - obviously green, lets vote and see the unanimous....WTF?!

Dunno my dog usually eats them before I can really look at it
Then it's just that weird rubber internal piece with bits of outer fuzz and blood stains

no idea why yellow is winning
there must be lots of color blind chippers here
I never heard of electric lime but that seems to fit (in my eyes)

I chose yellow. Never seen a yellow tennis court . Most court are green.

From a CNN article:

The unmistakable shade of the tennis ball is officially called "optic yellow" by the ITF. But a Google search for "optic yellow color" leads to the online color encyclopedia ColorHexa. There, the shade is listed as #ccff00 and marked as "Fluorescent yellow or Electric lime."

Counter argument. Just because someone calls something yellow doesn't mean it is yellow.

Obviously showing my age here, but for a large part of my life they were white. Like golf balls.

I've seen orange and yellow ones (also like golf balls).

Orange ones are easier to find in the snow when you play with your dog...

The Bronco is "Cyber Orange". So color names can be wrong.

I first read of the discussion re tennis ball colors in an article that stated the typical answers were 2:1 green:yellow, but I've now seen several that are the reverse, similar to our pole at present.

Of course, they all used to be white. But today, standard balls are clearly yellow. However, there are special purpose tennis balls made in green, red, orange, pink, white, and a combination of half yellow/half red at reduced compression levels for specialized applications, including children's play and hitting against a wall. I always have a couple of the two-tones in my tennis bag, and use them for warm-up every day.

About 25 years ago, tennis ball manufacturers made and seriously marketed solid orange balls as an alternative to yellow, and they were pretty popular for a couple of years. I actually preferred them...
