Indiana Grand Rebranding? (1 Viewer)

Have the $1 - $5 from there. The $2.50 is one of my favorite snappers and that's saying a lot considering its RHC

The HSI chips came from Indiana and they sold both Primary/Secondary. The Majestic stars had the secondary set destroyed because of complications with the casino. These should see both primary/secondary for sale.
I believe Jim reported a scenario where the chips for the Majestic Star were to be stored however their was a security issue of supervision resulting in the secondary set being put into play with the primaries destroyed and the Secondary set being the one seen in the sale. apples and oranges of the same tree either way it was just one cash set available.

Would this mean that the HSI chips would be a rarity to have primaries available rather than destroyed ?

No I don't believe it would mean that the HSI chips are a rarity. In fact I'd say that it would be more unlikely that a casino had the supervision issue. If I'm not mistaken the reason for the destruction was because of something to do with the boat being sold and them removing the security equipment prior to the completion of the sale or something along those lines. I'd say most casinos would just maintain security especially if the new brand is just moving into the same space.

I feel like the majority of chip room sales that I’ve seen have included primaries and secondaries.

Does anybody know when the primaries first hit the felt? Trying to get a feel for how old the used chips will be... and obviously curious if / how many of the unused primaries they'll have...

Post #23 or #28 possibly or eBay search it and see what the ones listed look like

lets all start putting away a few pennies each day for what we know will cost us in the future

Are the secondary chips generally listed after the primary chips on ChipGuide?

Not for an active casino…info on secondaries is quite guarded for security reasons.
Sorry, I meant listings for a closed one, like HSI, Jack, etc.

Reason I ask is because it seems like the case in the different casinos I've checked on ChipGuide. So I had assumed the green/orange edge spot HS Cleveland $25 was secondary because it was listed after the pink/yellow edge spot ones, but people consistently refer to the green/orange as primary...

I found some pics of HS Cleveland secondary sets vs. primary sets on a Chip Room thread -- (scroll down a ways to the sample set photo--the primaries are on top) https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/black-friday-sale.15745/

The ChipGuide is an amazing resource, but I wouldn't assume the order of chips listed to count on which came first or which is primary vs. secondary. Another slight gripe is that sometimes the scans and colors listed are not correct, but I would never want a world without the ChipGuide -- it is an amazing database of information, just take some of the information on it with a grain of salt.

Thank you!

When Jim gets ahold of chips, he submits new ones to the Chipguide. Sometimes, no one will have ever seen the secondaries and then boom, they are listed in the Chip Guide.

But as noted above, they're all obsolete at that time and there's not much differentiation between primary and secondary.

According to Indiana Grand’s Facebook page, their new live poker room is opening on 1/14/22. It’s only an hour away. Maybe they’ll sell me the old chips? Hmmmmm

I mean, should I try and go get some of these? I'm not really doing much right now?

Mint or near mint 1s and snappers are for sure worth harvesting (would sell over face value no doubt). Not that you’d make a fortune doing it but if they’re still open they’ll probably be happy to sell you by the rack making it less of a harvest than a casual purchase.

Oh I thought those where the new snappers.
