Gorilla gaming retreating from PCF? (1 Viewer)

My Gorilla table is great. Anybody who wants to babble on about a legal issue that has nothing to do with them, that they don't even know the details about, is just being a gossipy old lady.

They should be great with all the patented technologies and methods they employ. ;)

Just joking. They look like very nice tables from the few pictures I’ve seen.

Lots of companies have disputes. I think blue origin sues space x like 2 times a day. But none of that impacts my decision to use Amazon or buy a Tesla.

Buy a table because you like it or don’t if you don’t like it. Making a decision based on factors that don’t affect you is curious.

Gorilla makes really good quality at a fair price. Chan makes works of art at works of art prices. But he’s not taking orders due to demand. That leaves BBO, Gorilla or do it yourself. I have BBO too and won’t recommend them, and do it yourself isn’t for everyone. Isn’t for most actually.

If you need a table in the next year I think Gorilla is the only vendor I’d recommend.

Never underestimate this forum’s ability to label a business a villain and thus try to put that miscreant out of business. GG tables seem to be a much better build than most in my opinion.

I don't think this forum is going to impact their sales too much, pretty sure they made a bunch of tables for the WSOP. Every business has to decide where to put their efforts to maximize sales. We're a smaller niche community, and it's likely more profitable and less of a hassle to deal with larger orders than one-off customers like most of us would be.

I don't want to speak for Glenn, however, but did message him on Facebook pointing him to this thread in case he would like to respond. He's always been a solid guy in my interactions with him.

Tony Chan is deeply beloved here for a bunch of reasons and all of them are good. No dispute - he’s the man.
But that doesn’t mean that any other table vendor needs to be the enemy.
My opinion/guess - when he got notice of the patent infringement, he thought it was a cheap shot. So he posted it here, knowing fully well what the forum reaction would be. It was his shot over Gorilla’s bow - another cheap shot, and kind of an eff you. According to him, the matter has been settled. I have no idea why we can’t all call it a draw, and be happy that we’ve got two great vendors, one on each coast, to deal with.

Let alone that charging phones on poker tables or dining tables or any tabels should be irrelevant.
As a French Chef put it many years ago (responding to a complaint about the toilet) "You come to my place to eat; not to crap".
Similarly, you come to my place to play poker, not to charge your effing phones, which by the way should not be used at all and remain silent.
A spoiled, millenial, feel-good clientele can seemingly cause friction among very decent, reputable businesses, with even slightly overlapping market shares.

One of the few avenues of democracy left to consumers is the boycott, for whatever reasons. You can call it "cancel culture" if you want. I don't consider that a pejorative.

I'm still not buying Modiano cards, even if someone swore up and down that they're the best cards ever and every pack was blessed by the Pope. Just like I'm not supporting random overseas manufacturers of ceramic chips that rip off designs by forum sponsors no matter what the quality or price point is.

Because one is a nice guy just trying to make an honest living, and the other is a complete fucking asshole who thinks it's ok to patent stapling a USB cable to the bottom of a table so that he can threaten people making poker tables in their garage and steal money from honest hard-working people like Tony. Make no mistake about it. What Gorilla Glen did was 1000% complete and utter bullshit. It was probably the biggest bitch move I've ever seen on this site since I joined.

Hey, we all get to have our opinions. Yours tend to be impassioned and exaggerated, but I can appreciate that.
