About the chips:
Up for auction by popular demand, here is a nice little 300 chip Empress (Joliet, IL) mini tourney set with the following breakdown:
200x $5 (SCV, Paulson “Red” version)
80x $25 (SCV, darker green version)
20x $100 (LCV)
* Each denomination consists of sorted chips for consistent mold and color.
This is actually my favorite mini-tourney breakdown, and we’ve used it often in quick little 5 player T-1000 tourneys, with 40/16/4 starting stacks. That puts ALL the chips on the table right away, and we play until only one person is left standing - winner takes all! A group of five of us will often play several of those little tourneys back to back.
This is a casino worn set, so please look at the photos to judge condition for yourself. The hundos are in the best condition, similar to my recent separate auction for a barrel of these beauties. The $25s follow, and the $5s take up the rear, as is the norm for used Empress secondaries. You might note what at first appears to be flea bites on the $5s. However, most or all of that is actually just extra wear on the Paulson Metallic Gold edge spots, as that color is a lot softer and wears faster than others.
The starting bid of $495 reflects my recent auction price for a barrel of secondary hundos, plus just 50¢/chip for the rest of the chips.
About me:
I’ve been chipping for about 9 years, and after ChipTalk, joined PCF early on. I haven’t been active the past few years. If you don’t know me, and would like a character reference, please contact Melissa (liftapint). She’s good people, and I think possibly more well known than any of my other PCF friends here!
