Poker Mavens Custom Cards (1 Viewer)

@BearMetal Thanks for creating all these cool decks! I came searching to learn how to switch to the basic 4 color deck that Briggs provides. I never dreamed I would find a bunch of awesome content like this! Thank you for creating and sharing these files!!!

Now back to my old ways - a dumb question. So I downloaded one of your files to try out. I copied up into AWS. Then I edited my system config to point to your file. Now what? How do I tell my games to use this file instead of the default two color deck? I logged in with two IDs but it's still dealing the default deck.

In the Poker Mavens setup interface there is a place to change the deck files in use:

System Tab > Client Media section > Two-color card deck
System Tab > Client Media section > Four-color card deck

You must first stop the service using the "Stop" icon from the ribbon menu, then you can edit those settings to use the deck images of your choice.

After that restart the server.

You should see the change as a player on your next login. Refresh the browser to be sure.

@TX_Golf_N_Poker, I think the only part you missed was stopping and starting the server. Unlike avatar images, which are reloaded when a player joins the table, you've gotta bounce you're server for the cards to change. I think @StevieG summed up the steps end-to-end.

I did it twice. first time I just toggled the start and stop. Second time I completely closed the program, exited AWS, then went back in and restarted everything...

I'll try again later today and report back. I was thinking somewhere in each game there must be a place to tell it which deck to use. So between those two settings - one for two color and one for four color, I populate one, and leave the other one empty, correct? Then that determines the deck for every game and every tournament? If so, then that's what I did last night.

Yup, that's what I did. Weird...

Nope, still not working. Just to be clear, this is one of the files I should be using, correct? the PNG file? I pulled it from your link in post #1.

Well, I even set up a completely new ring game to see if that would make a difference. Nope. I guess it's time to contact Kent Briggs to see if he has any ideas, now that I'm pretty sure it's nothing I'm doing wrong.

OK, Kent got back to me. The deck each player uses is a USER option. So each player can make their own choice whether to use a regular or a 4 color deck. This selection is made in Options -> Table Settings. I'm sure both of you already knew this, but didn't think to tell me something so basic.

Now that I have this figured out, @BearMetal would you be willing to create for me the above 4 color deck and a matching 2 color deck with green and orange backs? Please, please??? :D

Thanks y'all for helping me through this. Clearly I am much dumber than you thought I was...

COOL! Thanks a lot man!!! Playing a tourney now and everyone loves your cards!

I'd love to have some made similar to GG poker. Their table graphics are incredible as well. Wish I could find their library of assets.
I do have a deck that is just suites:

Edit: one thing I've heard about GG's cards from people is that their spades/clubs are too similar. I purposefully tried to find a club that was pointy :)

I believe that is the set I'm using. Love your cards and really appreciate you sharing them with us!

Hey I have a large collection of stuff like custom card images for mavens. Is there somewhere I can post them / share them?
I upload them to my github repository, but you can upload them to drive if it's easier.

Awesome repo BearMetal. I'll be switching to them soon.

I'm curious - has anyone been able to locate the old Full Tilt deck graphics?

So, many of you have seen some of the web pages that I generate for my Poker Mavens site.

Turns out that others have wanted this as well. Yes, there have been some 3rd party service that you could pay for which do this a hell of a lot better than me. But the downside is that you have to give them full control of your PM server so they can get this data. My approach was more local - basically run a bunch of command line scripts against your Poker Mavens data and generate some local HTML files that you can then host.

I did this in my spare time, and I know it's not perfect. But I figured I'd offer it up to the community and let people see some really fun stats. Anyway, here's the repository:

Full disclosure: I did this for my site without ever intending to expose it to the world. It works for me and that's my priority. Also, yes, I know I could have used a database and done this "the right way", but honestly, this was faster and I'm pretty happy with it. And I know that this isn't a sustainable model as the data grows over time yadda yadda - it's worked for 18 months :) ... So, don't go bashing my bash

I tried the cards last night and had several complaints that the purple backs hurt they eyes and the cards ran together when playing 5-card games.

So I finally tried some PLO and I agreed that the cards ran together. I've changed the drop shadow on them and there is definitely clearer separation now. If anyone here is using these cards, feel free to try them out! (Links in original post still valid, but you can also get them from here).

You have any table graphics? I'm only seeing cards and avatars.

Installed this morning and users are saying they are a big improvement.
