They look incredible, and I’m curious to find out how much does one roughly weigh?

Excellent! have you tried some with a more dense coverage of the chip fragments, or do you need some breathing room so the acrylic adheres? Would love to see that.

Well, I am working on making new buttons this week. Poured some resin last night, first a layer of white dyed with white sparkles, then back 4 hours later to add a clear layer with little bits of Paulson THC clay.

Next, we make some vinyl logos on the wife's new Cricut. They are so small, it takes a good deal of effort to "weed" them. Then we apply to the button.

Tonight, I'm going to "dome" the colored side with clear resin. After that cures, I'll apply a label to the white side, then dome it to finish the job.

Cool thing happened coincidentally: one of the chip fragments still had some hotstamp intact:

I'll be back in a few days with some final pics.
So I’m the only one who thinks this is like murdering cats and dogs, and making a hat out of their bones?

I have tried a few different densities, and concluded that less was more. Just a matter of opinion. The resin has no trouble adhering with a much greater density of flakes.

Here's some other attempts at different combos of color, flakes, sparkles, swirl patterns, etc...some of them are horrible, some have potential.

Wow really great idea!! They look amazing

I am losing my mind at the mirage button. What a perfect addition to, what is becoming, a Grail/dream set to me. Not to own obviously (unless whoever all has them EVER wants to sell) but for sure in my mind. These and the P&Ps are duking it out for best in my head right now.

I saw the button in another pic @Saoliver posted in another thread and was annoyed at myself that I had somehow missed it in other pictures of that set...now I see it's a relatively new thing. The PERFECT addition to that set. Good job, congrats. I hope you continue and make a little money off your work.

Thank you for the kind words. This was a fun project for @Josh Kifer and me to make the tourney set. The cash set and resin buttons that @jja412 has made are phenomenal as well.

Nothing is stopping you from making a set for yourself. Just start buying up bright solids! I'll keep you in mind if I ever sell, but I'm pretty sure that @Josh Kifer and @JeepologyOffroad are already in line with dibs.

Trying to make the swirl patterns work with lettering...View attachment 759389View attachment 759390

I like this as a stand alone button, it's beautiful. But the black/white around the actual font makes it "look" much more chunky than it is. I love how thin the "mirage" is on the chips, and the original matches perfectly...these almost look like a different font even though its the same.

Beautiful button, without a doubt, but the originals are the GOAT so far for me.
