Was scrolling threw my pictures and found some of one of the first times my roommate and I hosted a tournament in our dorm. It was a HUGE $5 buyin this night lol. This was at the very beginning of my chipping career and I thought I was the cool kid on the block. Pretty funny looking back at it. Everyone thought the chips were the coolest thing since sliced bread.

"If you don't know how you won.. you loose!" LMFAO!!

Absolutely still have ours also but I booted the $10s and $50s from the set. I do view them as part of the chipping journey, but saddly will probably gives these to one of my poor cousins at some point...or multiple of them because there are so many (chips).

Love the "our largest game yet!!" Freaking cool, thanks for sharing Ryan!

Clearly the best strategy for this tourney is to play frog's-butthole tight until the first bust, and then play normal tourney strategy through the end.

And of course, never help another player evaluate his hand at showdown, since cards don't speak. Kinda cutthroat for a $5 donkament, but to each his own.

I knew you liked seeing this lol!

Oh 100%. No idea why we didn’t just say that card speak. Like I said we were all new and we decided on that to make sure everyone was paying attention lol. Kinda dumb looking back on it. As you can tell there is a lot of dumb things about this whole setup but that’s what made it fun every week!

You need to write a strategy book about this tourney structure. :wtf:

This was just the pre-game shot :sneaky: it got better once the crowd shows up lol. I kid you not we would setup the poker table in the morning because we were so excited to play at night.
Saddly I see zero beer fridge ... or a coffee table for the 95% baking soda cocaine... you guys must be good kids up there in ole PA!! Lol

I hope you got pictures bro... I would trade every single chip I own for a picture of my family around our d crappy dining room table playing with ($2) real plastic playing cards (royals) and a carousel filled with red/white/blue interlocking poker chips... (whole chip set cost $2 at a yard sale) literally would trade it all for one picture, a memory of that game with my drunk grandfather before he passed away. We played every Friday and Saturday night (except hunting season) for like 3 years... not one picture unfortunately. And the table was the only thing my female cousin asked for when both grandparents died.

Memories like this will be extremely valuable to you later in life, I promise!! Hope when we eventually come and play at your game Ryan... that this is framed on the wall man.

I love the idea of hosting a tournament and the loser buys pizza the next time. I may have to steal that idea when I go off to university this fall. :)
