Hey, y’all. I’ve been working with @asofine to help him navigate the sale process.

Being that he doesn’t have a significant history here, I can understand someone being a bit squeamish about making this size of a purchase.

If it helps, I’m willing to escrow any purchase — send the money to me instead, and I’ll hold it until you get your chips. I’ve talked to @asofine about this, and he was fine with that arrangement if it comes down to it.

Happy chipping!

I would encourage you to post some better up close photos of the chips. Especially of the edges. A photo like this one below would be ideal. It's really difficult to determine the value of these if we can't see the edges clearly. Value varies quite a bit by condition.

Ok, I'll take some pictures and upload them.

UPDATE: Added more photos to the OP

Ah sorry I read the 25s as .25's!!!

My Bad

No worries. Works out to a bit over $6 a chip. Considering the recent price that $1s have been going for, I think the price is right in line with the current market.

For sure the 5ks and 1ks are less common. The cash denoms aren’t less common, but more desirable. There is a greater market for the cash denoms I believe.

The 5ks are for sure the least common of the original non-custom WTHC. Probably by a lot.

I am clutching all of my WTHC for eternity anyway.

I passed on a rack of minty T5000 WTHC just a month or so ago. I believe they are gone now. I got a rack of T500 WTHC to make them into my CDI $25K

I think, each chipper is resposible for his prices and knows how he made his decision (so if my comment goes to far, please tell me - no offense to anyone), but I absolutely disagree on this point... apart from the inquiries of @phcjpp and @Organista1 (insane $10 and $7 per chip for the 1s) the mid-denoms of WTHCs were sold for about $3.50 until the end of april '21. Playable Sets with 1ks and 5ks were sold for $4 to (in exceptional cases) $5 per chip.
It's not entirely understandable from my point of view, how to call an average price of over $6 for a 70%-mid-denom-set "in line with the market".
I'm quite happy, that nobody snapcalls the offer... it's a good sign, that things go back to "normal" in babysteps... ;)
Last time I checked I was not insane!

On forums I've frequented in the past, comments about pricing were eventually prohibited from for sale threads because they invariably devolved into back-and-forths like this. I appreciate that this forum permits this, though.

In any case, I relied on advice from more tenured members than I in order to set a price. If I sell the chips, great: I've had two offers at full ask - one went sideways due to some concerns with overseas shipping, one offer is contingent on the buyer completing another sale...also, I've had offers to split off the set that - in aggregate - add up to my asking price, but I'd prefer to sell to one buyer so that I'm not sending 5 international shipments. If I fail to find a buyer at my asking price, then of course I will adjust :)

Cheers.

I don’t think anyone is intentionally doing it, but the comments are at minimum toeing the “thread crapping” line. And @asofine is right. If the price is too high, the market will let him know. Happy to discuss what the current WTHC market is with anyone, but let’s have that discussion somewhere else.

From the pics, these look like great chips. Whoever buys them is going to love them.
