AND, twos are kind of stupid. Theyre good for a limit set if you've got a buttload of them, and they're good to relabel as fracs in youre into that sort of thing, but using them as $2s in a cash set with $1s and $5s is not a standard move.

you could do a 2/4 nl game? Sometimes you gotta work a bit harder to rationalize spending a few thousand dollars on clay discs.

For those tempted by the Fat Hats, I’ve been working on a design for overlabeling these as Bounty/Seating chips. Here is a VERY rough draft (hand-punched, not perfectly aligned, color needs tweaking, etc.). It’s especially challenging because the suits run over the interior rim. But I like the idea of giant bounties, so that they can’t be mistaken for a regular chip in play.

Very cool idea! Good luck!

FWIW, the punch I’m using is 1-1/8” diameter. Not getting a great cut, but it’s very close to the necessary size. One answer to the white edge problem would be to have a white ring around the label, I guess. Anyway, looking forward to the sale.

One solution I’ve used to take the white edge off paper is to use an appropriately colored magic marker, before applying to the surface. Careful, if it’s too juicy, it can bleed onto the face.

Ya, I’ve done that once, though only with a permanent marker, and I let them dry a long time before applying. Also only with a barrel I was willing to ruin if it didn’t work.

As far as using the fewest denoms posssible… Well, what’s the fun in that?

For tourneys, you usually don’t need that many ultra high denoms if you have a decent number of the fourth highest. But players seem to like getting a few big chips in the later stages.

For cash, having a barrel or two of a high denom is protection against a problem if somehow the game gets crazy / runs into morning. Having 2s I find handy at low stakes, reduces the number of lower denoms you need, adds flexibility, and again FUN

Not a standard move. But you do you - as long as you know what you're doing (ie - not a noob who thinks they need $2s and $10s on the table with their $1s, 5s, and 25s) then I've got nothing to say about it. Hell, I've been working on a set where I'll probably use $2.50s because they're gorgeous and because I'll be short on $5s - not a standard move.

It was pretty enjoyable. I've tried the 10 experiment before and didn't like it, but it functioned in the 1/2 game.

My local casino uses $2s regularly in its 1/2 games. The operators must be noobs

Is it a regional thing? What can I say - I’ve never seen it done, and I can’t remember seeing any pictures or discussion of it being done, outside of home games. I’m sticking with “not a standard move.”

White ring variation. The cutting remains imperfect, and other tweaks are needed, but it’s progressing I think:

Looks surprisingly good. Clever work. Still some work to be done, but you've made me go from thinking "no way these can be relabeled" to "oh wow, maybe there's a chance".

I am from Canada, any of you know what I might be looking at for shipping costs ?
1-130 chips $29.99USD
131 chips(approx)- 7/8 racks $54.99-$59.99USD
Above 8 racks 108.99USD

Don’t worry about duties, it’s a small amount compared to ordering regular products from other businesses. For me, worth every dime and I think with the addiction everyone has here, even if it was $500 to ship, we would sell our new borns in a snap to buy.

Was wondering - and maybe it’s a bit late to ask, but if we bought chips and wanted to hold off on shipping for a bit (my us reshipper is out of town) would that be possible? Wanted to avoid paying duties on stuff I won’t be keeping from one of the sets if possible - but if not I guess ill have to bite the bullet this time.
