It is with great sadness that I list this set for sale - this was my first really REALLY good set and I have a lot of memories with it. But, I have a custom order coming up and these rarely get used any more and need a good home.

These chips were produced for a GB on Chiptalk in late 2010. It was a very limited production as many were frustrated with BCC's QC at the time, and saw any order as a huge gamble. Well, the chips came out great, with some of the best colors ever used (you can never REALLY appreciate the TRK Fire $5s until you see them in person!) There is only one other (much smaller) set of these in North America (owned by a prominent PCFer whose name I will not divulge publicly unless he wishes,) and two in Europe (owned by chippers who haven't been heard from in years.) So, about as close to unique as you can get for a GB set. I bought these second-hand in 2012 and couldn't have been happier with the purchase.

Here is what I have from the original GB:

203x $0.25 (gray/black/blood red)
344x $1 (horizon blue/dark blue/canary yellow)
323x $5 (TRK fire/charcoal/white)
70x $20 (laker purple/lavender/TRK(?) yellow)

I have also added 40x custom-labeled $100 chips on MGK blanks (bone white/light blue/mauve/lavender) with custom artwork by J5 based on the original GB artwork (which he also produced.) Labels were created by Gear Labels on ultra-thin 2-mil vinyl; these labels are simply AMAZING. There is NO difference to the feel of an inlaid chip, and unless you look VERY closely you cannot even tell they are labels and not inlays.

A Suicide King dealer button is also included with the set.

These chips are not "mint" - they have been used in approximately 30 home games (~5 hour sessions) and are nicely broken in (but still in very, very good condition with sharp edges, no nicks, dirt, or other damage.) They have been oiled on 3 separate occasions.

Asking price for all 980 chips plus DB is $1,895 plus any applicable shipping, insurance and Paypal fees at actual cost. Non-USA buyers are welcome under the following conditions:

-You MUST pay via Paypal Friends & Family
-Set will be shipped in one USPS large flat-rate box, at actual cost
-YOU accept all responsibility for the shipment once it leaves the U.S.; insurance will not cover anything that happens in another country. No refunds.

This is NOT a "dibs" sale. This ad will run until at least 10:00 a.m. CST on Wednesday, Feb. 24th. At that point if there are multiple interested buyers a randomized flip will be held to determine the buyer. Payment within 24 hours is expected, and if a sale occurs by then the chips will ship next weekend.

Feel free to post or PM with any questions. On to the pics!

5 minutes? LOL this is gonna take like an hour, unless y'all want me to just run a flip and tell you who won with no pics or anything. I'm sure somebody would call shenanigans.

Besides, I already posted the time. CANNOT. DEVIATE. FROM. POSTED. RULES.

GL to everybody who tossed their hat into the ring. It's been so difficult for me to sit on the sidelines
I made it! 92 hours of not typing "I'm in" for an awesome set that I'd love, but don't really need.

Good luck to the participants!

LOL, me too!!! I came very close several times, and even spoke about this set at last weekend's poker game.

Its a science trying to calculate my percentage of winning while determining which chips I need to sell in order to pay you....and executing everything in a timely fashion.

You're right, lf they entered late last night there's not much I can do, If they were in before me, then maybe I would have not priced my other sets as aggressively. It doesn't matter. Lets get to this flip!!!!!!! Don you take a lunch break?

Same boat. Trying to see what my chances of winning are, and which set i need to sell in order to cover.
But then again, i dont want to sell anything until i know i won ... Rock and a Hard place for sure.

Did you sell the rounders yet?

Nope, lots of lowball offers though. If i sell them, great, if not, all good too. No rush to sell them, wont be letting them go for anything lower than what i have in them.
If i do happen to win these, i think ill put up my Kings Crown set for sale. They will probably get more action than the Rounders set anyways.

I'll take the rack of Rounders $100s and a rack of $25s off your hands at a premium if you need a few hundred dollars. That would top off my tournament set nicely. ;)(y)

Yup Yup, i know. Trust me, i have you on the list.
If anything i might piece meal the set, and keep a small cash set for myself.
So you taking the $100s and a rack of $25s off my hands would work out for both of us in that scenario.
Just going to let the eBay auction run its course, and figure it all out after that. (y)

WHAT, your waiting until eBay runs its course? :sneaky: - Just kidding man, if you do decide to split out I might be interested in a rack of fivers and a rack of ones (and of course the quarters).(y)

So what's this 'mystery buyer' bullshit..... so much for total transactional transparency. No need for such crap.

You wanna sell 'em off-line, fine. But a sale in a public forum should be all-public.

Strongly disagree that you or anyone else is entitled to "total transactional transparency."

Someone wants to buy something without the whole world knowing about it, for any reason at all, that's completely up to them as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah I can't say I understand the problem with the mystery buyer stuff. If Ben just put the chips for sale first come, first served and someone PMed rather than posting, we'd never know who it was unless the buyer or Ben told us.

Anyway, here's hoping for 84o in the flip. Runner runner, nothing funner.

Then the sale should be private. Too much opportunity for collusion (not that you would, but just sayin'). Public is public. My opinion, but I'd wager I'm not alone....

i thought about this very thing, but I am new here and didn't want to make waves or anything. what if someone paid someone else to put their name in to double their chances? even if they don't win, it lowers everyones chances. if they did win, someone ship them the funds and gets it shipped to them and perhaps is out of 2x shipping cost. I guess this could happen private or not though.

I'm also not accusing anybody of anything (my initial impressions of PCF have been great and seems like a small, tight knit and welcoming community), just saying when chips look this good, people might try harder to get them!!

I just wanna be dealt :kh:

i am not suggesting he changes the randomness of this by any means (who doesn't love a flip), but I think this would be a much better idea than a flip. Place a piece of paper with each persons name on it, shuffle the deck and start dealing out the cards one at a time per person. Whoever gets the :kh: is the winner.

A special flip for a special set.

As far as my view on this goes, this is ultimately a private transaction between Ben and a buyer. Ben set the terms for qualifying as a buyer. His plan could be to just stage the flip and pick his favorite. Might not be what people want to hear, but he has a certain amount of risk as the seller, and this could mitigate his risk. None of us are entitled to anything. Ben holds all the cards, as he is selling. The rest of us can only choose to participate or not.

That said, I think Ben is going to do exactly what he says, because he's not a douche, and wouldn't bother lying to us all to manipulate who gets to buy.

very well said.

They remade this game in the '80s, and the drummer in my band was the model for "Bobby", one of the dates.
