$1150 plus shipping
These are special chips. I've always considered them the grail $1 for mixed sets (except maybe those blue Kings whatever) - there just aren't many shaped inlay $1s available in this condition. I was building a mixed THC set this summer, and was thrilled to score these. But because of covid, I haven't gotten to play them yet. And yes, I've decided to go in a different direction. Ha. So here are two gorgeous racks, up for sale. The two rows on the right were sold to me as mint, never played perfectly white. I can't argue with that - thats what they appear to be. The two rows on the left had no such claims - I'd guess maybe they could have been played a few times, or not - not that you'd notice either way? And if they're not all perfectly white, again, I guess, I haven't noticed. Because it never mattered - I buy chips to use in games, so minor condition distinctions don't matter. So that's the spirit with which I'm selling them - two racks, perfect for a top shelf mixed set, hopefully to be played, and absolutely not to be split. And for exactly what I paid for them (less shipping, because good lord, we can all pay for our own shipping. )

I'll leave this open for a few days and see what kind of response it gets. I'll deal a hand for all interested parties, to determine who gets to buy them. Not that I expect a huge turnout, because these are expensive chips. But if there is a big response, I'll even deal two tables, or whatever seems appropriate. Let me know if you want to buy them and you'll get fair shot, within a week.

International people - I just want to give a fair warning that if I have to fill out any kind of customs forms or whatever I'll list these at their full price. If that screws you over, I'm honestly sorry, but that's how I want to do it.

I sold 400 of these recently and one of my racks had the same discoloring to the white. I thought it was because they were in storage for a long time, but maybe it's just something in the clay formula that changes over time. I never really noticed it until I took pictures to sell them. And honestly, you don't even notice in person when you are playing. These are beautiful chips and totally worth the price. GLWS!

If I had recently won the lottery I'd be all over these. Stunning chips, just outside of my budget.
I feel you. Really nice chips in this condition are not cheap, that's a fact. Spend what you can and be happy with what you have :) I struggle with this concept myself.

I'm good, thanks. Only need my two racks with my game(s).

Still, in the current environment I am pretty surprised that these shaped/leaded ones are not being scooped up quickly when I see RHCs and unleaded clown fiesta chips (which I still like - don't get me wrong) going for nearly as much or way more.

If I had any confidence in my ability to get 3-4 racks of leaded, shaped-inlay THC $5s, I'd have already scooped these up for a mixed set.

C'est la vie.

I think this is the kicker preventing most right here

That does make perfect sense, as someone who uses them in a mixed set as well. The $1s being shaped does still allow for a leaded $5 with a regular circle inlay and can still likely keep the lineup with unique shapes, although those are still obviously really hard to find.

GLWS!

@steam ^ mixed set ideas.

And there it is.
It’s a fair concern/comment, but I’ve gotten a couple of offers that are close to asking, so there’s interest out there.
I’m honestly not sure if I’ll lower the price at some point, or just sit on them. I keep telling myself I’m a user, not a collector, so I’m usually pretty eager to sell off what I’m not using. But its not like I need the cash at the moment, so I can’t see any reason to take a loss, either.

Totally fair. You're like me in that I use or plan to actually use whatever chips I have. Not a collector either. Who's got the money for that? :unsure: Yup, no reason to take a loss.
