I’ve never thought about the number. Either it is too loud that my wife is texting me that it is waking her up or I can’t hear it. There is nothing in between.

most of the time now I listen with headphones so it doesn’t matter.

Even numbers or multiples of 5. Only odd number I allow is 13.

Thankfully both our cars just use a volume bar so I only have to worry about the TV. The wife uses odd numbers just to mess with my OCD

Netflix and HBO are quieter on our tv for some reason. We stream everything now, I don’t remember that being an issue before with HBO on Comcast.
