Covid19 in the house. Drat. (4 Viewers)

Sorry to hear that Scott. Wishing you the best for your wife and family. Hope to see you at another meet up when this is all over.....!

Doc what is recommended treatment for those infected? Curious what the latest info is.

Just like everybody, I hope your wife recovers quickly and it leaves you untouched. I always enjoy your takes on things, and this one was no different.

Wishing you and your wife a bunch of run good!

FWIW, my sister-in-law got it in early November but no one else in her family did (20 year old son and husband both live with her). Also, my boss got in in July, and neither her husband nor her daughter who lives at home caught Covid.

Stay safe Scott and wishing your wife a speedy recovery too - I’m hoping she will be back to baking those awesome chocolate chip cookies and other yummy treats soon.

Wishing your wife a speedy recovery and you a negative test result.
Don't take the virus lightly but try not to worry.
If anyone you know really struggles to breathe try quercetin tablets

@Lemonzest My wife has limited symptoms, less than she will have once cedar allergy season gets into full bloom in January. Prior to the positive test, I thought she had a touch of early "cedar fever".

The only treatment her doctors offer is, stay home! Get rest. Oh and stay home! She even got clearance to go out on new years day. But no visitors for the Christmas holiday.

The doctor was not optimistic about me avoiding the virus. Possible, sure. Likely, no.

I feel fine. But that is pretty much normal for us. She gets a sick longer and more seriously than I do. I still have unfond memories of a summer vacation gone wrong where we have a long car ride home after aborting the trip with wife plus three kids are puking with the flu. I didn't blink an eye. But we did rename the van, the "vomit comet" The smell never goes away.

< knocking on wood > so far so good for me. I guess I wouldn't be shocked to be essentially asymptomatic. Let's hope for that -=- DrStrange

PS there are plenty of Christmas goodies in the fridge. We had to stop holiday deliveries when the bad news came in. But 90% are already in people's hands. They all know to wipe down the boxes.

Allergies in January doesn't sound fun and I have never heard of that. Hmm the vomit comet story is surprisingly vivid! ewwww.

I am sure you know but don't forget to take the Vit. C and D. Get well soon!!!

Hey Scott, just seeing this and wanted to wish you and Annette the best. You both are in my prayers. Chips were the last thing on my mind when I heard this news. I just want to get back to your place and enjoy some poker and some of Annette's great homecooked meals and desserts!

Call me if you need anything my friend! You know I in in Bulverde now so not too far away although distance never separates friendship!

Wishing you and your wife the best Scott! Hopefully she recovers quickly and fully and you come out unscathed.
Vitamins, fluids and rest! And of course a shot of Clorox ;)

The vomit comet reminds me of the beast smell from Seinfeld...

Best wishes for your wife and yourself. Sending positive thoughts for a quick recovery.

Two more days in. My wife still has minimal symptoms. The only Covid-19 effect is her taste has gotten weak. She actually asked me about seasoning which is not normal.

Her doctors are treating this lightly. Don't call us, we'll call you. We did buy a pulse oximeter for about $30. She is to test several times a day and treat readings under 90 as a sign of trouble requiring emergency treatment now.

I am still fine. At least the best I can tell. The doctors want me to wait a few more days and then get tested no matter how I feel. Testing my O2 levels a couple of times a day is recommended. levels under 90% are a sign of trouble for me as well.

On-line groceries during Christmas week are an adventure. It takes several days to get your stuff. And mistakes are made - good mistake? Getting a gallon of chocolate milk. No idea why, it just showed up in the order along with the expected dairy products. Bad mistake? - getting six pounds of fresh green beans rather than one pound. I am not quite sure what we can do with them aside from freezing.

So far, so good -=- DrStrange

Following along still Scott... thinking about you guys!! When I had it my sense of taste turned off like a light switch... that was the begining of October and my sense of taste still has not fully recovered... but from what I hear that has been an issue with many people.

Hope you guys can skate through with none of the major stuff at the end... but if she starts getting unexplainable muscle weakness and fatigue, unfortunately at least from my experience about 9 days in the bad part will hit! Obviously along with the oxygen levels also I hope you are monitoring temps. I don't know that is is as important but the fluctuations in temp towards the end were not fun either!!

This virus attacks everyone differently, I truly hope you guys can sneak through! Brie and I were in the same house but we were careful and she never got it, so it's very possible you will be fine brother!!

In my thoughts and Prayers! Your chippin buddy Ben

You could make a hill of beans, and then compare stuff to it.
I laughed entirely too hard at that buddy!! Funny post of the day!! Seriously laughed out loud!!

I would love 6 pounds if green beans!! That's about all I eat on this diet! Low sodium habanero sauce and Mrs. Dash Southwest chipotle seasoning of fresh steamed beans! Yumm!!

Put on that lucky suit Scott. VIPs like you will catch the cards you need!

This is day eight for my wife. She is still doing fine, but definitely not at 100%. Sleepy, grump, can't taste very well. O2 levels 95% to 98%. Nothing much for symptoms - let's call it a mild cold. I know this is likely the critical point for her but I think she might not. No need to cause worry, I have my eye on her.

I got my test today. Let's see if I missed out. I do have some weak symptoms - the same mild cold. My O2 levels are 99% to 100%. Results on Monday +/-

You run into "interesting" people in the clinic the day after Christmas. I eavesdropped on a young couple. He has some injury to his hand bleeding through a dish towel. She is arguing with him and someone on the phone - - " I told him that thing was dangerous ". It seems he got a gun for Christmas but it isn't clear that he shot himself. Maybe he got his hand mangled in the action somehow? The couple can't decide if they should tell the doctor what happened or not. There is an "invisible" lady handling intake a few feet away. I am sure she knows more than I learned. Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas indeed.

My prime rib sits in the refrigerator all slathered in mustard and sugar, ready for the oven. But my poor wife can't taste it - we decided to wait till she can. There are plenty of other things to eat.

We have ~100 Christmas sweets left in the fridge. Normally they would be gifted or used as treats for the holiday poker game. But not this year. You know, I can't eat sweets like I once could. I fear a bunch of this is going in the trash. :dead:

Ghosts of holiday games from the past:

Doing pretty good, ok all things considered -=- DrStrange
