I'm going to be honest, I've been eyeing some things for a while and just pulled the trigger today...I'm Canadian so I sort of forgot it was Presidents' Day. It's Flag Day here, and Family Day, and a bunch of other things depending on what province you live in.

They come with plenty of hooker juice. Typical used casino chips. I have a used set and a secondary set, big difference between the two, but for the price, they are nice chips.

hard to find any nice 5s in the dollar or less range. really wanted HSI but seems everyone else does too and not many people are selling them

The primaries are rare, but HSI secondary $5s pop up on the classifieds all the time.

yeah, issue is the secondaries go for about 225/rack which i cant really justify spending at this early stage of my life.
also the set im building is made up of chips with smaller edge spots whereas the 5s are much wider

Totally understand. I've got 2 racks of mint Cincy $5s; absolutely love them. They are a premiere $5 chip.

With that said, the chips in this sale are definitely going to be in used casino condition. I've seen some other denominations and they're definitely rounded edges with a good amount of yuck on them. I would expect the $5s to be the same since they are a casino work horse chip.

But, for the price, if you're willing to put in some elbow grease to clean them up I'm sure that they'll turn out very nice.

yeah don't mind giving them a good ol' scrub. my 1s and 25s im waiting on are mint so we'll see how much of a difference there is!

for the chips i wanted i bought off jim, those particular ones there were no used available. if i was on this forum when new primary 5s were for sale @1.29ea i would've had a full new set. the only way i would get a full mint set is if i bought the isle of capri 5s off jim, but i feel indifferent about them, and they dont really go with the mixed set im building

I wouldn't sweat it too much. They'll clean up great and only the snobbiest of players would notice and/or care.

Also, if you're putting those mint chippies into play, they'll get closer to the used chips over time. You could also just shuffle them daily for a few weeks; that'll learn em.

my friends and i are a bunch of microstakes university players. last time we met up i had a worse version of the monte carlo chips apache sells, and they REALLY liked those despite me thinking they were worse than dice chips. im sure they aren't gonna mind a bit of wear

@Ethan actually i Just picked up some now lol. I figured a few wouldn’t hurt and I prefer these to the others . Also got some $100s! I am sure they will come in handy in my current $0.05/$0.10 game haha. Thanks for keeping an eye out! i like the bright spots on the 25s! Way brighter than the IOC.
