Biggest chipset per casino, owned by PCF'ers

I want to thank everyone for making me realize that chip collecting is a habit that sometimes would require a second mortgage to fully fund. :)

Thankfully I'm a little bit of a chip snob and by that I mean there's only about 3-4% of all the chips out there that appeal to me, but that said, seeing some of you with 3000-4000 of a chip makes me wonder if you're going to eventually run a side hustle or build a poker room somewhere?

Anything over 1000 I can't see ever being used in a game.
We built a 40 person set of CDIs for the purpose of accommodating a 4 table tournament. We used about half of it this weekend. Its close to 4,000 chips

It's all good Brie. I'm just letting you know that as much fun as I have with chips and designs, it's not something I feel like I have to spend the equivalent of a Bentley on in order to have the ultimate poker night. 800 chips is plenty for me, maybe some day I will break into the four digit barrier but for now, when I organize a tournament, it probably won't be with 40+ of my closest friends.

Maybe that's why I like Sunfly and ABC ceramics. They're sort of the perfect balance. They aren't crap quality like (many) China Clays or Dice Chips. I won't ever end up spending $3k+ for a playable set like old Paulson THC's or CPC's (although I admit I like the feel of CPC's) and most importantly, the designs are fun and vibrant. If I give some chips away, I want the people who receive them to love the design.

Speaking of which, I caught lightning in a bottle with the last of my custom Midnight Casino chips from the first run. I met a waitress who had the same birthday as me, just different year named Kayla. Kayla was ecstatic to get this single chip (literally the last chip I had available from the first run) bc she is a gambler and is going to carry it to Pechanga Casino in Temecula and keep it on her as her lucky poker chip.

I guess what I am trying to say is: I still get mind=blown by the concept that you use good quality chips with a huge tournament and all those people. I wouldn't even know where to find 40 people that would want to play poker, nor would I trust those peeps with expensive chips. :) i figure 8-10 people is plenty.

This is a thread to post pron and discuss who has the biggest chips sets.

Which is fine, but it's also a wake-up call for me. I love poker chips almost as much as you guys do (apparently not as much because I'm not throwing huge sums of money at it) but this made me realize that unless I'm making a huge salary, then I would probably not end up collecting so many chips that I would probably never use them.

Well, let's shit on big sets in the post about big sets. PERFECT.

Realizing you could never afford to have a set that huge =/= "shitting on a big set". I respect that you guys have a huge set, but I know that I would never be able to afford that unless I suddenly ended up with some really crazy job that afforded me many thousands of dollars to afford on a huge set like that. I just sometimes wonder how you all can spend that much money on poker chips, like did you decide Porsches were overrated or something?

Can't help but wonder if Kayla's parents know she's been talking to strangers.

Actually, they do know. Everyone at that establishment knows and they know about our matching birthdays, thank you for playing. You tried your best and you failed miserably, lesson for you is: never try.

As for biggest sets, Mine are:

800 -- Midnight Casino (custom, tournament) + bounties and rebuys, I know I'm second on that list because Ben and Brie have outdone me.
800 -- LL Carruthersville. Definitely not the largest set but my first and probably only actual Paulson for a while (price willing)
740 -- Dia De Los Muertos (800 if you include the custom chips ordered in from Japan)
540 -- Wicked Spades (my first set in a nice mahogany cabinet)
540 -- GPI/Monaco (from Apache). This one's special for my Mom since it was the last set she viewed before she died. (EDIT: Now they're not even listed, so Pr0n coming, because they will always have a special place for me, I'm glad I got them while I could!)

Can’t believe this is relevant for a second time but...

I'm sure someone's probably got more chips than I do of this set. Doesn't matter.

I am just glad I got these last year because my Mom loved the Milanos best until she saw these. This would be the last set she would see in the concept stage before she died so this holds a special place in my heart.

Did most people build sets or do individual racks with these? Was surprised this was biggest, but yeah that's not small.
Mostly 500-800 chip sets. A few random racks.

I'm sure someone has a bigger set, but my Lady Luck - MO set is at 1,250 (1,100 pictured here from the last time I did a family photo), which is more than the 682 listed on the resource list.

Surprised you didn't get the fracs to go with them. Those things have some great colors. The $500s have the best color but given the price and limited quantity, I can see why you don't have those. :)

Not an intention to knock my good buddy @markleteenie off his thrown... just didn't know where else to post my pics!! I am just happy to say as of today our journey to acquire BCC Mardi Gras V2 chips is complete!!

@FordPickup92 and I bought our first set of these last Christmas as a present to each other. They hold a special place for us both... while I know a while back these were probably pretty readily available. In today's market they are like gold! Almost impossible to find! Probably because they are soo underrated!

Locally here on the east coast @krafticus hosts the game that you want to play in!! Its amazing and all of the locals welcomed Brie and I into their homes and their game. We are very grateful, also Mark occasionally allows guest sets to be put in play! (Why not make a rotation, keep the wear down on your primary chips, and give your players some variety!)

I made it my goal to one day have this set playable in his monthly game... no easy task! 36 players with 10k starting stacks and a 1k on time bonus, a single rebuy for each player... but our love for these chips drove me to keep digging for more and hopefully one day have a set playable there...

Who knows... they may get no love and only make one appearance! Haha but everywhere we have taken them so far, they have been a crowd favorite!!

As far as chip counts...
(505) $25s
(563) $100s
(445) $500s my favorite in the series
(406) $1000s
(205) $5000s
(24) $25,000s

A total of 2,148 chips!

Still have to get bounties made, but otherwise complete for our needs!!

Seriously an honest hats off thank you to everyone that helped us build this amazing set. We plan to own, play and cherrish them for many years to come!!

Ben, can you help me on the chips vs plaques count, plaques were official after the chips right ?

Plaques are $25k x 24
I assume they came after the chips but I am not 100% on this

Sorry about that... the plaques I believe were made with the set, the octagons I believe were made by @Potsie1 after the set.

Either way...
1919 actual 39mm chips
205 octagons
(40) 5k plaques (shown below) and (24) 25k plaques.

1919 sounds fine. Not planning on any more growth in the set.

Thanks Ben

Awesome set Ben, makes mine look so small, lol. Any chance you’ll part with some of those $5k plaques since you have so many octogons?
