These, other than the Gambler's pleasure, are my extra chips we used for random things during tournaments. The Viva Las Vegas chips were similar enough to Gamblers Pleasure that i bought them to use in that set, but the $500 and VLV never made it out of the boxes. I got the Vineyard set (actually over 10k chips), sorted them, sold off about 8000 of them, paid back my initial investment and made about $5600 still keeping the 2k chips i have for tournaments. That was 15 years ago or so. My wife was pissed what i paid for them, and then she saw the checks i was depositing into her account and was suddenly not opposed. This was right at the beginning of WSOP going big, and everyone wanted real top hat and cane chips...
I bought the lot because a bunch of people wanted sets, but the seller wouldn't separate, so i made a lowball offer on everything and he took it.... then he provided me with the names and phone numbers of a bunch of people bugging him to sell them a set and i put together what they wanted and shipped them out for a price that they were happy with. I ended up getting 10k chips for a little over $.27 a chip. Mostly what i have left is the NCV tourney chips... the other ones i put together nice sets and sold, which is why the money was good. Probably 6k tourney chips and 5.5k other "cash" chips that were in the original lot and i sold what i could in a matter of 2 months.
