Quick hitter pass through ... leaving tonight on the redeye, and if I can stay the hell outta of the pit on the way out I'll finish up a little.

Main point: stay away from here until at least December. It's a mess; they're putting in the framework for the Formula 1 race next month so lanes and sidewalks are closed on the Strip and cross streets (Harmon, Flamingo, Koval, Audrie). Traffic is TERRIBLE, and everything is pinched in. We ate at Hofbrauhaus at Harmon and Paradise Friday and it took 20 minutes to drive the mile from Elara.

Cashed the 1pm daily at Planet Hollywood yesterday (nice little room if you can find it, it's upstairs), may play a little of the winnings at Horseshoe tonight, really nice room. Speaking of winnings, gotta love Pai Gow at the Caesar's properties, it's Face Up; the dealer shows their cards before you look at yours so you know what you need to win, or to set your hand to at least get the tie. Earned my PH buy in and a 2nd bullet I didn't need that way.

Harvested a bit and hit up Spinetti's for some stuff for my personal collection, bought dinner at Bachannal (I am now spoiled) and will leave town with more cash than when I arrived.

If you get the chance go see The Mentalist show at Planet Hollywood. Guys been doing it for 20 years. $29 tickets. Your mind will be blown.

But here's the moral of the story reports of Vegas' demise are greatly exaggerated; Vegas is NOT dead. (Explains the traffic.) Streets, casinos, restaurants, stores are all packed. However, unless you have your casino's Superubernova Double Uranium status, much of the value isn't there. But the suits are learning we're getting savvy and are working around them, and they're realizing if they offer ways to save we'll be a little more loyal. It's still a fun place, and whether you're on the Strip or downtown there's your fair amount of poker.

Now to go home and wait on my group buy dealer buttons.
