Vegas Chinese New Year Chips (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I’ve been looking at some of these to add to my collection…

I’m curious whether *all* $8 Vegas Chinese New Year chips are 43mm or some of them might be 39mm (and if so, which ones?)….

My goal is to add Paris and a couple other properties to this collection….I’m trying to get a $1, $5, $25, and additional chip from every property I’ve ever played poker or blackjack at…

Conversely, is there somewhere other than MOGH where I look up chip size? They have a lot of info in MOGH but surprisingly don’t delineate between 39mm and 43mm.

I was under the impression that CNY chips were like other limited edition promotional chips and were mostly 39mm - but I don't really know. I've got one from the Luxor and it's 39mm.

I've had/have several CNY $8 chips that are 43mm. Wynn for example

I’ve bad 43mm from Venetian, Mirage, Wynn, etc….

But if 39mm exists as well I’m willing to take a flyer. One Paris CNY (hopefully 39mm) coming up.

Some are 39mm and others are 43mm. In my experience, the $8 chips from Wynn, Venetian, and MGM/Mirage properties are 43mm. The $8 chips from the Harrah/Caesar properties are 39mm. That's been my general observation from when I was collecting these a few years ago.

If you can tell from the MOGH picture that they're RHC or THC then you know they're 39mm.

If it's a house mold I guess it could be either size, but probably it's going to be 39mm ? You could try looking for the chip on google / eBay / worthpoint and maybe it would be shown alongside some others that you could use to judge the size?

So, for example, just using the Venetian: you can tell from the chipguide entry that YOT Bull, Tiger, Dragon, and Snake are on IHC so they're 43mm, but YOT Sheep, Monkey, Cock, Dog, and Pig are on RHC so they're 39mm.

Are Vegas casinos still making CNY chips? I thought I heard the NGC put a ban on those a few years ago, saying chips could only exist for gaming.

Also when I heard that, I wondered why they didn't just stick them in the poker room and say "These are for 8/16 limit".

Wynn was 43 then they finished with 39mm $1 chips and stopped
Planet Hollywood were 39mm
Venetian went to $25 39mm chips
Harrahs 39mm
Flamingo was 39mm
Ceasers 39mm
Bellagio was 43mm
Aria was 43mm
Mandalay was 43mm
4Queens was 39mm
Rio was 39mm
Palace station was $5 39mm
Orleans was 39mm
Jack Cincy was 43mm
