Some oldsters here will remember but for those who weren't around yet here's the deal; back in 2005 ASM, as they were known at the time, opened up a group buy to the folks at ChipTalk (precursor to this zoo). Previously ASM had steadfastly refused to do any custom chips for non casinos with any edgespot pattern other than 312. I know I had been bugging Jim at ASM for years but he wouldn't budge. Not until now. The deal was, forgive if the memory is a bit fuzzy, that there would be a certain set number of of chips with different spot patterns. We all had to agree/vote on the set of chip options and at the time this type of group buy was novel and previously unthinkable so the voting and discussion was tense. I can't remember how many chips were decided on. I do know the Gray 214 Lavender and Orange 6A14 Black & White were two of the options (I think the Black 4A14 Imperial Blue & DG Green was one also). You could add any 3D14 chip you wanted in addition to the limited field of other spotted chips. IIRC you could use any of the available molds. So I got the set below (the left $25 and $100 were not part of the original buy):

The problem is theory and practice or more correctly mock up and real life are two different things. In my dark, yet cozy basement, the Brown $1 chip and the Orange $5 were a little too close in tint, coloring, what have you. So they didn't stand out very well in pots and stacks. Sure it was workable but not ideal. Sometime later ASM basically opened up all spot patterns, base colors, so I added a different $25, which frankly I didn't need. I added the stupid DG Yellow $100, which I also didn't need, but I never corrected the $1/$5 visual conflict. Sometime after ASM became CPC I checked in and discovered to my surprise they still had my art work so in 2012 I had a new $1 chip made (the Dark Blue 3SA16 Light Blue) which is I think looks good and works with the Orange $5. But I loved that Brown $1. I occurred to me I could maybe make a new $5 that would work with it and maybe even work with the Blue $1. At the same time I could add a real $25 to work with and a $100 chip because you have to have one right? Am I right? Two workable cash sets. In any case help me think through this as far a color choices. New chips would be those with the CPC inlay in the mock ups:
