So for those that don't know, I'm serving in the US Air Force (7 years as of yesterday!) and challenge coins are a longstanding tradition within the military. They're usually made of metal, given out by the commander/senior enlisted/officers etc to a subordinate for going the extra mile, an exceptional job well done, etc etc. So our commander came up with the idea that we should be able to recognize our peers within the organization because there's a lot of good things that happen that he doesn't get to see on a day to day basis. Metal coins would have been really expensive so this is where the custom poker chips come into play.

I was able to get my hands on one before it was given out. They are plastic with a thick, textured label on them and poorly designed IMO and dont even have the squadron colors. After some poking around i saw they were purchased from chiplab.com and probably overpaid for these cheap poker atrocities. So i went up to the Chief's secretary (CMSgt or Chief Master Sergeant is the highest enlisted member of the squadron) and told him that if they were to ever buy more in the future to let me know because there's so many other options out there like 43mm, 48mm, different shapes, full chip face graphics, rolling edge text, that would contribute to a great looking chip. Its at no fault of their own that they don't know any better but i just wished they would have reached out to the unit for opinions first.

I dont know if he will tell him or not but i hope he does

Thank you for your service!

What will happen: He will go tell the guy what you said. The reply will be that the website says they're 'REAL CLAY CHIPS' and you obviously don't know what you're talking about.
