Rebuys with the chips 1 for 1k
The $1 chips as T1000? That is of course doable, but I'd prefer a structure that can be covered with the correct chips
But yeah, I can do rebuys with 100s and 500s
Regardless of how many chips you have available, it's always more efficient to do rebuys, addons, and color-ups with high-value chips that will not be removed later due to color-ups. Or in other words: I agree.
Since you have 52500 in T100 and T500, you almost have enough for stacks of T2000 with 2 rebuys (54k) or T1500 with two rebuys and an addon (also 54k). I would personally risk it since all rebuys will not likely be used. If they are, you will be 1500 short but you probably have a spare plaque you can throw in as a T2000. Or did you give the last one to me?
But let's say T1500 with two rebuys to be on the safe side.

20 T5
16 T25
10 T100
- Rebuy Stack Breakdown
Use T100 and T500 as you see fit. They can exchange lower denoms from other players.
- Blind Levels:
A lot depends on the number of rebuys, which depends on how long and how deep the rebuy period plays. With the structure below, I estimate a rebuy rate of at least 50%, that would be ~14 stacks of T1500 which is 21k in total on the table.
SB BB
L1: 5 10 (or 10/15 if you want to avoid doubling the blinds. I would use 5/10, though)
L2: 10 20
L3: 15 30
L4: 20 40
L5: 30 60
L6: 40 80
End of rebuys, color up T5
L7: 50 100
L8: 75 150
L9: 100 200
L10: 150 300
L11: 250 500
Color up T25
L12: 400 800 * should end around here with antes
L13: 600 1200
L14: 800 1600
Color up T100...if you have any chips for it!
L15: 1000 2000
L16: 1500 3000
L17: 2500 5000
It's slower in the beginning and a bit faster towards the end, and that's because the rebuy time is quite long, it's half the tournament. I don't want the stack you receive when rebuying to be too small compared to the blinds, that's why the progression before the first break is a bit slower.
Without antes it should end with ~20 big blinds left (around level 12 or 13), with antes it should end about a level earlier. (If using antes, use the Big Blind ante. And yes, I wrote this just to start a war in your thread) With 25 minute levels, that's 2h30min of rebuy poker and a total of ~5 hours.
A lot depends on the number of rebuys actually used. Worst case is full rebuy rate (200%), that's 40500 on the table (actually a bit more if you round up on color-ups, which I do), meaning it ends around L15 without antes and L14 with antes.
If the deadline is hard you can set the level length of all levels from L7 and onwards depending on the number of rebuys bought. Lets say 11 rebuys are used. Then there are 20 stacks in play, that's 30k, so without antes it ends around level 14, with antes level 13. Let's say antes and level 13, that's 7 more levels. You have 150 minutes (2h30min) to be done, and 150/7 is 21.4 so you can set the level time to 21.
Also, if the deadline is hard, I recommend shortening all levels after the intended ending level to, for example, 15 minutes. The "20 Big Blind" rule is far from fool proof. You have been warned:
I'm glad I wrote that disclaimer. I hosted a T20k freezout tournament on Saturday for 18 degens. With on-time-bonus and rounding up on color-ups there was around 400k in play towards the end. I had planned on it ending at the 8k/16k level at the latest, but the final three lasted long and it wasn't down to heads up until the last minute of that level.
The next level had a steep increase to 12k/24k and was only 16 minutes long (I call this the "
time to leave" level). With around 8 BBs each they managed to survive the whole level!
The next level (the "
Still here? GTFO!" level) is 20k/40k and only lasts 12 minutes. I have no idea how, cause I was busy destroying the cash game (which may or may not be true), but somehow 5 BBs each was enough for them to stay afloat! WTF???
The next level, 30k/60 (or the "
how is this even possible!?" level) finally ended things. I'm not sure why, but it seems that having just 3.3 BBs per player causes them to make rash decisions...
I have barely had a tournament survive past 30 BBs left in years, and never ever had one survive 20 (except turbo STTs). I didn't think I'd ever experience one surviving to 6.7!
