Soak ceramic chips with warm water and dish soap? (1 Viewer)

Is there anything wrong with soaking ceramic chips in a bucket of water and dish soap for a few mins to clean them?

I'm sure that the chips would be ok, but I question why you would need to soak ceramic chips for cleaning. Whatever it is could probably wiped off without needing any soaking.

At the most, a light scrub with a soft bristle brush in a mild soap should do…no soaking needed.

I found the optimal temperature for clay chips in my ultrasonic is 42 Celsius
...any hotter and your chips can warp. Cermaics are a different material and are likely more temp resistant but still I'd keep the temperature within bathwater range. Warm water and a 5-10 min soak then rag wipe should clean up any beer, wing sause, nacho cheese etc...

Soaking won't hurt, but probably only needed for extremely filthy or grimey chips.

Soaking is ok for ceramics and will help remove nasty debris easier. As others said, don’t soak too hot just in case.

Also, don’t soak too long (hours) for clay chips with shaped inlays (like Elsinore) as the water will go inside the inlay and leave water damage.

I use a Clorox wipe, set to the side, dip it in water after I run the process on a barrel, set it to the side to dry in a 20 x 20 pattern, then dab with a dry paper towel.

Lurk warm water and mild detergent...
Mine had to stay two days in that solution and were fine, however chip quality, also ceramic, varies.
Take few chips and put them into water for 2-3 hours, wipe them out and leave to dry. If they are fine you may proceed with rest of set.

I just dip my ceramic chips in warm water + soap if needed then wipe down with microfiber cloth.
