Need some guidance.
What’s the best way to set up a tourney with a cash set?
Available demons are .50, 1, 5, 20, 50, 100.

Wow I forgot so much information, sorry.

10 players no rebuy.
200- .50
150- 1
50- 5
50- 20
25- 50
25- 100

Thanks for the help.

And how long do you want it to last?

I can tell you already, you are way short on T5 chips.

This is tough. I have an aversion to using fractions in tournaments, but I don't think there is a choice in this case.

I am thinking a T40 starting stack (80 big blinds) of 10/15/4 of 0.50/1/5 denoms.

Blinds
0.50-0.50
0.50-1
0.50-1.50
1-2
1.50-3
** break / remove 0.50
2-4
3-6
4-8
6-12
8-16
** break / remove 1
10-20 < - probable end.
15-30
20-40
30-60
** break / remove 5
40-80
60-120
80-160
120-240
160-320

You should be able to fit the 11 levels plus two breaks of 10 minutes in 4 hours if you play 20 min levels.

It's not very deep but the truth is this set is constrained in 5s.

Thanks, yeah I’m in the process of getting 50 10$ and maybw it can flow better. Thanks for your help!

Got it, I’ll refrain from doing that, I’ll suck to the breakdown provided to me :) I really appreciate all your helps!

Don’t add more chips in between what you have. Introducing yet another denom will only make it even harder to manage.
All denoms should be 4x-5x between each level.
Exactly this. ^

Adding 50 more $5 chips will help both the tournament and the cash set breakdowns.

To truly make it a playable single-table tourney set, you need at least these totals:

100 x $1
80 x $5 **
50 x $20
5 x $100

That allows ten starting stacks of 10/8/5 = T150 (150bb with 1/1 opening blinds, or 75bb with 1/2 blinds). Use the $100 chips to color-up the $1 and $5 chips.

Just wanted to say thank you. Just had my first tournament and it went well. I see why .50 are bad to use and why I need more 5s. But gotta do with what I have for now. I will be buying an actual tournament set eventually to make it easier lol.

Someone set me pictures lol
I started with 10/15/4/2 for 80$ stack (.50/1/5/20) 80BB.
I used a 50$ chip to color up the .50
I was gonna color up the 5$ but it ended right before.
Since everyone was late we did 15min blinds lol.
The pic with the 23os is the winning hand 3 lol
In all went well, but def need a tournament set with better denominations.

You even had a referee. That would be a good idea at my games.
