Hello chippers and poker-enthusiasts!

Now that this global pandemic is hopefully coming to an end soon I decided that life is too short to play poker with cheap metal slugged chips or dice chips. Naturally I went down the sheer endlessly deep poker chip rabbit-hole on Youtube and the internet in general, then stumled upon this fine place. I had a look at the design of the upcoming group buy and think that I came here at exactly the right time

I live in Austria and the home-game group that I am a part of has been running for about 10 years, mostly playing tournaments with small cashgames after that. Some of those people are my best friends in life ever since, I guess that is a good indication for a successful home-game. Even though my English is far from being perfect I hope that I can be helpful when there are questions regarding tournaments in the home game section of this forum since I have a lot of experience running them and know most of the dos and don'ts.

Welcome Chris!

I suppose you’re talking about the Abiatti group buy? They’re mighty fine chips but not everyone likes the high-end plastics. Their biggest advantage I would say are the vibrant colors and awesome durability but the downside is that they are quite slippery. To me they’re not worth the premium price but they might be to you. Point is you should really try to get your hands on some samples to be able to decide what’s right for you.

There are plenty of other good options at that price range so just want to make sure you’re not making hasty uninformed decisions. Good luck with whatever you decide for your first purchase!

@Eriks: Thank you! I have handled some high end plastics in casinos before and really liked them, but I will follow your advice and get even more samples

@boltonguy: Grüß dich, nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay in Austria. Vienna is really nice, but I hope you had some time to visit the Alps and some other cities as well.
