Pee Wee Herman passed away today at 70. He was far ahead of his time. Tough to have a show that kids and their parents both watch and love but for different reasons . His movies were hilarious. Think of professor Toru Tanaka in peewees big adventure. Or in the blues brothers movie when Joliet jake says “I’ll have a bottle of your finest champagne, five shrimp, cocktails, and some bread for my brother. “We have a Don Perignon ‘71 at $120.. jake says “that’ll be fine pal. “ heady stuff. The closing theme to the TV show was my background music on my answering machine for years. Everyone loved that tune..

He’s with captain Carl now

I liked him in that cocaine movie with Johnny Depp. I hated the PeeWee Herman persona, that show, and that movie. But I appreciate how popular it was and how many people DID like it.

Funny how what he did then would be nothing today. How the world has changed for the worse.

The first PeeWee movie is still hilarious.
Yes. For me, that was the perfect amount of that character. I didn't watch much of the tv show or the sequal movie. But PeeWee's big adventure was an iconic thing for our generation.

Damn....he was a pretty good actor after moving on from playing the PeeWee Herman character. I remember watching the TV show and the movie when I was a kid.

I remember seeing him for the first time as the hotel clerk in Cheech & Chong’s Next Movie.
But his portrayal as Derek Foreal in Blow was amazing.

Yep, and there’s rarely a mention of the child porn charges that were brought against him (what a shocker). Sadly, we aren’t too far off from pedophilia being totally acceptable and shoved in the face of everyone. There’s a certain facet of people already conducting the freight train to normalizing it.
