Hello all,

I have come across some RHC chips that I really like, unfortunately the seller is on eBay instead of here which sucks but I was wondering was a fair price for RHC chips that are in MINT condition. I know there is variation based on rarity but I am looking for more of a baseline or fair price for something like common like a Horseshoe RHC chip.

Without details, it would be very hard to say. The market price likely varies by a factor of ten based on the denomination and the specific casino.

Also, "mint" isn't really well defined even here. I have seen clearly casino used chips, sun damaged chips, chips warped due to water or heat, stained inlay, etc all listed on PCF as "mint" or "near mint". Getting a true mint poker chip in the numastic sense is quite difficult outside of a group buy. Perhaps "uncirculated" would be a better description.

do you have a link to look at?

Agree with @DrStrange - hard to say.

Most RHCs I’ve come across are third hand, and from a guy here that buys in bulk from closed casinos and sells at typically market or lower than market prices.

I built a mostly Indiana Grand ‘IG’ RHC set, I paid probably ~$2.80 a chip on average. For the ‘nicest’ chip which was a bearclaw $5 and in great condition, up to $3.25/$3.75’ish.

The rest were as low as a $1.5ish - $2.5/ chip.

Typically $1 denoms are the cheapest, with the $1,000’s being the most expensive.

Original chiproom pricing from a few years back, so I paid a premium (and you’re unlikely to find someone to sell as cheap) but no other way to get ‘em.

I’m sure there’s examples of RHC’s going for more than $3.75 a chip, think I may have bought a couple specific higher denoms. Once you start getting above $4/$5 a chips, you start to get more THC mold options which can be preferable for some folk.

GL!

Based on what you saying these seems to fall somewhere in the fair price category. Crazy saying that compared to the prices of that screenshot you sent.

Send a message saying “PCF?” Maybe you can move it off eBay and save some money and fees on both sides. Typical eBay listing will only net 85% after the pound of flesh is taken.

Even among RHC, there’s varies between prices between on condition, rarity and demend so you probably have to post some pictures for a clearer valuations

Yeah, but I wouldn’t worry about the screenshot pricing, folk were able to get a great deal on IG and horseshoes over the years, however not everyone is able to buy since it’s a lot of competition. I don’t think I’ve seen pricing that low for total sets.

If the rack looks clean and not ‘abused’ and they’re desirable $3 is on the higher side but not unreasonable I’d say.

For condition, the worst RHCs I got were these Jumers samples, completely worn down into the RHC mold. Nasty and felt like crap:

Best condition chips I got were these ones, and you could tell from the pics they had sharp edges and no flea bites:

Wow! Those horseshoe $25s look awesome

Yes, those are mine. Thank you all for the accurate information. Yes, eBay charges around 15% in most cases and sometimes more. They charge their fees on the shipping and taxes as well. I am happy to sell to anyone here at a discount. Unlike some on eBay, I try to accurately describe the condition. Furthermore, I never sell "dirty" chips. I clean every rack I get unless they're already clean. It takes about an hour per rack to clean them, I gently scrub each side. That's 200 faces to wash per rack.

@dubdonkey - if you haven’t already, suggest you DM @TheHun quickly before someone snipes these. Also, I’d say most folk don’t clean /wash their chips before selling. ‘Most’ = me.

All good stuff and pics look good, time to buy or ragrets tomorrow ;)

Not to mention the packing materials and time to pack and drive to the post office. Nobody is faulting you Gabor. You've brought great chips here to PCF at reasonable prices (Hollywood & Rivers Hot Stamped Fracs to name two) and you've brought some great chips to the world via The Chip Room to eBay.

Thank you. But you know...there's the haters and trolls. I try to always be as fair as possible. Yes you're right, there's alot of behind the scenes stuff most don't know about.
