Me: How much just the 4 button batteries?
Him: 3 grand - and you get some classics for free!
Funny! There’re for a tournament timer device 🤦🏻‍♂️ I should have removed those from the pictures. I feel really stupid now, but glad it got a laugh!

Welcome! : )
Ah sad - i thought you forgot the Rolex.
I can throw in a Rolex replica I bought in Turkey 15 years ago, but the strap is broken 😉

I'm amazed that Paulson chips have skyrocketed in recent years, I regret not hoarding more when Paulson still sold to the public.

Seem like you not trolling after seeing how you react and respond to the comments

To be honest, you priced your chips for about 3x its market value for a non playable chips lot

So they’re not gonna be sold anytime soon in at time price

I really appreciate your feedback. I genuinely thought $10 per chip was the going rate. To clarify, is the market rate $3 per chip? What do you mean by non-playable chips? Apologies for my ignorance here, but as you can tell, I’m no expert!

I read the comment "non-playable" as indicating that the breakdown of the chips (quantities of each denomination in this particular batch) as not being conducive to being used on the table in a useful way without additional chips.

Nobody is going to be able to host a cash game with just the $5s and $25s here unless they are playing very high stakes or are counting the values on the chips as 1/100 the actual value. Even with that accommodation, one is going to have a lot of change-making with a 6 or 8 player game with this breakdown of the chips.

These could have interest to folks who have these chips already and have a need to add on partial racks (meaning groups of 100) chips to their existing sets to make their sets more playable, but as a group and in isolation, this specific group of chips in these denominations and number of chips per denomination would not be terribly functional when put into play. (If someone is using $5 chips in their game, they are unlikely to need or want $1000s or $500 as an example).

You might have a bit more luck if you are willing to sell by the denomination, but as a group, even at something like the $3/chip price, these are unlikely to move.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the explanation, it makes more
sense now! I’m open to reducing the price and selling separately. Do you think $6, if I split it, would work? I think I’ll keep them if not.

What @AlbinoDragon explain about the non-playable is what I meant.

Do you think $6, if I split it, would work? I think I’ll keep them if not.
You will have to ask yourself : How often do you buy item (that cost hundreds) priced at twice the market rate?

The higher denomination you might get $4 to the right buyer, $3 is a fairer price for the rest of the denominations. Also, the extra shipping cost from overseas will further reduce your potential buyer pool too

You're welcome!

I can't say what a price might be for these. I've not looked for these nor tracked sales of them.

A search through older classified listings here might give an idea if nobody else chimes in with better information.

Good luck with the sale.

Hey it looks like you're new here (so am I) and some of the more seasoned members are giving you some tough feedback on pricing this listing. So in Sitting Out newbie solidarity, I did a bit of research on the UK market and found a similar listing that recently sold and that might help you price this:

I'm not up on the exchange rate but that might be a good place to start.

Beautiful chips. GLWS.

Thank you. I happened to snap these up! Looking to make a reasonable markup or I'll be keeping them.

This set cannot be sold in such a condition and at this price. It’s simply impossible to play poker with it.
I don’t think you’ll be able to sell these chips even at $4 per chip. I haven’t seen a single sale where they went for more than $2–3.5 per chip. The hundred clearly shows that the chips have already been in play. Yes, they are in good condition, but they’re not mint.
I would even say that you paid quite a fair price for them, considering the pound-to-dollar exchange rate and the absence of customs fees.

And by the way, it will now be difficult for you to ship them internationally. The main buyers are in the EU and the USA. The UK has left the EU, and buyers from the EU will face customs charges (which must be taken into account). That’s an additional 20% plus customs service fees.

As for the USA, where most of such sets are, you won’t be able to send this set there at all, since the UK postal service is currently not shipping parcels there.

So, greetings from Brexit and Trump!

Sad that political bullshit affects chip sales. Then again, per the OP, this is nothing more than a chip flip. Maybe a sale to Canada?

Also, my OCD requests that you switch the position of the $5 and $500 chips and retakes all photos.
