Well over a year and a half since starting my design thread for this project I couldn’t be happier to show off my Taylor Swift themed chips.

The accessory chips are still WIP so this is just to show off the denominated chips. The six eras represented on the denominated chips are my wife’s “favorite half” of Taylor’s discography.

Implementing some Taylor numerology, I lucked out that “tournament set” is 13 letters (Taylor’s favorite/lucky number) hence putting that on all the inlays. Otherwise the inlays are all derived from the album colors with the exception of Midnights where we chose to go with the clock imagery cause it fits better and cause it’s a nod to Swifties who are in the know on all the aesthetics and Easter eggs from that era.

T500 MTT anyone??

The font and idea for the album names layout is from the Eras Tour movie intros which gives me such goosebumps.

I love how all the chips came out but the colors are definitely a bit off from how they look on a screen. I hope for the sake of everyone’s future projects that this gets dialed in more. It’s acceptable at the price point but I also think something can/should be done about it. I’m rather colorblind and I feel like my iPhone camera has been underperforming since the last update so these photos feel a little washed out to me but I hope they show off how awesome the chips came out.

Lastly, on base color, I loved what @MrRossKeys did with the tri-pie effect here and @timinater did the work of dialing in the shades/tints.

Lastly, I wanted to take advantage of the ceramic medium to do printing on the edge which feels like a critical classic ceramic design element and I really love the complexity these chips have in large stacks from the tri-pie with the lettering which effectively becomes like an extra visual texture on the chips from a distance.

A massive thank you to @timinater for fantastic design work, to @justincarothers for facilitating the purchase, to my wife for giving my the excuse to get this set as a present to her, and to Taylor for being such a great muse and giving us your music (lol).

I LOVE IT!!! You did such an incredible job with these - they came out so nice! The tri-pie design with the writing on the edge spots looks so nice! Just incredible Festive, great job!

Here the final mock btw. I think the Midnights T500 and Folklore T25 came out the most different from what I expected. I also feel like the Folklore inlay came out quite dark. None of these are glaring to me and I love the set but it’s a bit frustrating. Maybe I should have gotten some of the sample color wheels that folks have worked on?

@Cratty does this type of variation just what you’ve gotta expect or could I have worked around this somehow?

Tina's inlay printer has been running quite a bit darker lately IMO.. seems noticeable vs earlier runs last year. Tough to predict though, as it's not consistent.

Great job! Yes, something is up with your iPhone camera... maybe you have a filter loaded somehow? Either way, tri-pies work well here, and I LOVE how your tournament stacks showcase how easy it is to tell the chips apart.

This showcases one of my favorite things about chipping. No matter what your interests you can make a set to reflect it.

Well done sir. I’ve already taken screenshots to share with all the swifties in my life.

Really love this color palette as a full set.
Ya it was a fun exercise to find the intersection of the eras colors with traditional tournament chip colors. The Evermore T1k is a bit of a stretch on orange and I don’t think such a vibrant blue is typical for a T500 but blue and purple look the same to me so it’s not a problem lol :P
