Hey everyone! Well I've been gone from the forums for about 4-5 years and now I've made my way back. Made some great deals and got plenty of help/advice during that time and was able to pick up quite a few poker chips for my PC. I still have them and hadn't looked at them much until last weekend. It got me thinking about poker chips again and we all know how that goes! I just happened to come across someone locally that I was purchasing some poker items from (mainly a nice table) and snagged the poker chips that they had.

Well, to my surprise, they had some nicer chips than I was expecting. I'll admit that I'm a novice for the most part but was learning some back years ago. I think I retained 25% of that info lol. Anyways, I wanted to reach out to the community and say hello again but also get some input/advice on the chips. I'm going to look up threads on the forum too so I can get more info but just also wanted to make a post to help as well.

I'm going to attach some quick photos of the chips (if i can remember how to do so). Some of them I know I've seen in the past but just don't know what specific sets/inlays/models etc that they are. Eventually, it will all start to make more sense again!

Here is the a quick breakdown of the chips that I picked up. While I know they say Paulson Casino De Isthmus, I'm just curious to get more info on them.

$5's - There is 44 of these chips. They are the 4th and 5th chip stacks. They have obviously been played with the most. Very dirty but look to still be in good shape (esp after cleaning). There are also 22 of these chips in the middle stack that look similar. Maybe they are worn much more but they just seemed different from the better 2 stacks. Lastly, there are 34 of the Scandia Casino $5's. They don't look like any of the Scandia Casino $5's that I saw online earlier today and seem to have a smoother feel to them.

$25's - Full rack of 100 chips plus one extra as well. They are very dirty but appear to be in nice condition. However, I'm curious what others think since they need really get cleaned up well.

$100's - 2 full racks of 100 chips each. The interesting thing is there is 2 different types of inlays for these chips. These look and feel new to me but I have no clue if they have been played with at all. The weird thing about these is there is 103 of the round inlays and 97 of the screw inlay type. I'm hoping I can find 3 of the screw inlays to complete the rack or maybe swap for the 3 circle inlay extras that I have.

I have to get some dinner but I'm going to add some quick pictures I took in the car when I got them. Hopefully they are decent for now but will obviously retake some better ones.

My questions are basically this ------

1. Which specific set or molds or whatnot are these chips from?
2. Condition-wise, how do the $100's and $25's look? I feel like 2 stacks of the $5's can be solid but the rest I'm clueless on.
3. What is the best and preferred method to cleaning these type chips?

Picking these up has been exciting and reminds me of years ago when I joined the forums and bought my first chips.

Any info is greatly appreciated and I'm def going to browse the forums after dinner so I'll be back!

They're all Paulson Top Hat Cane chips, except the "Web Mold" which I think was also Paulson (though it could have been Blue Chip Company?).

Released long before my time as a chipper, but if I understand correctly these are all genuine Paulson chips that were sold to the home market (non-casino) before they went casino-only.

All worth at least $1/chip, more for the good condition ones probably.

My best guess at current market value of the CDI98 you have are:

$5 each for the $5 chips
$3.50 each for the $25 chips
$4.50 each for the $100 chips

Of course, the above assumes EX+ condition. Worn condition will take away from the value substantially.

The cog-shaped inlay $100s may sell for an extra $1-1.50 premium per chip
Shaped inlay (scallop) $25s are rarer still, and shaped inlay (hub) $5s are rarest of all
