Last fall we traveled to Australia / New Zeeland. I carried a couple of thousand dollars just in case a poker game broke out. It didn't.

I kept my cash split - some in pocket but most kept with our passports. We had medical problems coming home and chaos ruled the weeks after we returned. I couldn't find the gambling money. It seems rather odd, but perhaps we spent it somehow? We got home with all of our travel documents. We did not even present our passport at the border, it was all done with facial recognition.

I was putting away our passports after travelling last week (I travel with my passport within the USA.) stuffed in the bottom of my document case was

@DrunkleWade We didn't nearly enough of Australia last year. Could have stayed several more weeks and still not scratched the surface. If our health holds out, and if Americans are welcome after our ugly behaviors, I can see a return trip being a real possibility. We have discussed a big motor coach tour for next time.

However, my wife likely would have something to say about me spending a big vacation trip playing days' worth of poker. She might not have as much fun as I would at a meat-up. -=- DrStrange

Mate, if you make it over here my wife can show yours around Melbourne. She's more excited than me I think for the food, shopping, sights etc. She used to fly down weekly for work in the Melbourne CBD so she knows her way around on the trams and such.
