dayyuuuum that would have been a nice find. Going by the amount of chips in the pics you stand to lose more than a few hundred....seriously good luck man... I hate to hear about stuff like this.

I used to have cousins that lived in the Monterey Park area. Lemme know if you want me to send them over and lean on him.

To be honest, I really did everything I thought was reasonable. He had a good rating track record on offerup. I had reasonable proof that the chips existed because I asked for some specific pictures which he provided. I could have sworn that the orange fracs in one of the ads was bought earlier by some on PCF because they were sold here. The initial communication was fast and effortless. I thought a good deal was made and I paid.

Then I saw a post from another forum member (who I won't name, because there's no need to drag others into this) who was asking about the value of these exact chips, and that flew up the red flags. But the communication was still good, up until a week ago, then nothing from offerup/Facebook messaging, nothing from e-mail, nothing from SMS.

The truly shittiest thing about this whole situation is that if PayPal rejects my claim, then I will be forced to sell some sets to cover some of my losses. Stuff that I was collecting for my charity operations. I feel like a total loser.

Don't feel bad or feel like a loser. Our default setting is to trust people. By trusting other people we hope they act fairly in return. Some people are just dishonest....We can't do anything about that.

I opened up a dispute through my bank/credit card as per instructions directly from PayPal. But it might be a longshot that I get it reversed.

@allforcharity Was researching this for you and found this. I saw it a few times by different people so it looks like you may be covered.

If anybody knows anybody here who was involved in any PCF transaction for those orange unicorn mold Silver Dollar Casino Tacoma WA 25 cent chips (2 racks of them), I would appreciate a message forwarded to me. I need to know if there is some physical location that I can pin these chips and this Michael Ho guy to. If I remember correctly, those fracs went for a fairly tidy sum, around $200 per rack if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks, Tommy. I went over this with my Bank/CC. They are making the dispute with PayPal on my behalf and it is there discretion on whether or not to credit my account. But if PayPal denies that they have any responsibilities in this matter, then I doubt my Bank/CC will voluntarily take the hit for me. My fingers are crossed.

I find that Amex and Discover have much better customer service than the various Mastercard and Visa card issuers so I link those to my PayPal accounts. I only had to do a chargeback once for a FF payment and it was successful.

I want to alert the PCF community about a likely fraudster for the following set(s) of PCA chips on offerup.com from California for the following:

https://offerup.com/item/detail/219387855

https://offerup.com/item/detail/208776283

Supposedly, his name is Michael Ho and his e-mail is pikaho626@gmail.com
His SMS contact number is 1-626-864-7129 which looks nothing more than a full message drop.

Avoid at all costs. I may be out a significant amount of money here.

"... from California..."

That's a pretty big area. Any city for this guy? He may be using more than one name.

I would encourage everyone to report this guy on offer up, and any other classifieds you see him on. I can't stand this shit, and if he gets reported as a scammer over and over again he will get banned. Then he'll try to sell his items on another site and we just report him again. Atleast it will be inconvenient for him. I reported him already

I inquired about these chips over 9 months ago, but never really got anywhere with him. He had them listed for $700 back then.

Well, I managed to find a home address through Google by cross-referencing his name and his phone number. Don't know what to do with this info. Feel like a goddamn stalker.

Strange thing happened. He tried to phone me at 5am this morning, so I know he's alive. Probably didn't know even know it was me until he hit my voice mail.
Has not responded to new messages since. He's being a real shithead about the whole thing.

Well, at least PayPal has decided to open up an investigation and is waiting for seller's side of the story. So, if he stonewalls them, I should get my money back sooner or later.
The one good thing about offerup.com is that their chat system is documented, so I've got proof of verbal contract including price, method of payment, and shipping details. I'm starting to feel slightly better about the situation (in that the chances of ruling in my favour have gone from zero to even).
