Hey all you experts.

We are currently in the planning stages of a Vegas trip for the end of July.

I was informed of Caesar's diamond level offering some great perks ($100 dining credit, no resort fees, free valet, etc.)

I am currently gold level with a whopping 0 points.

Is it really as simple as getting the https://cards.barclaycardus.com/banking/cards/wyndham-rewards-earner-business-card/ and just paying the $95 annual fee? I'm not missing any hidden "gotcha's" am I?

Hey Jonesy, saw this a bit ago, he specifically talks about gaining Ceasers Gold status. But to answer your question, I believe so. You may watch your timing as some tier upgrades/match are limited in length of time, i.e. 6 months. GL!

If you dig a little deeper, it looks like it might not work..

"You must have earned Tier Status with your current loyalty program in order for your status to be matched."

I think getting the business card is considered earning the tier status with Wyndham. Not 100% sure so I will definitely do more research.

I *just* signed up for the Founders card, which isn't a credit card but like a rewards membership. I got in on the end-of-year deal so it was $350 for the year, but it supposedly gives Caesar's Diamond automatically. I redeemed that on the founders site and it said it might take 3-4 weeks, so if you go this route make sure you do it soon enough to allow you to book your stay.

This card also gives automatic Hilton Gold status, which isn't too bad since I use Hilton a lot already but I'm normally just silver there. Other than that I probably won't use any of the other benefits, but I figure it'll pay for itself quick with two trips to Vegas.

edit to add: I was also looking into doing their "Diamond in a day" promo, which seems pretty random but would be fun to try. Every so often at some random Caesar's property they give 10x points for that day, and they do matches at certain intervals, so you just need to show up at that place on that day and just jam a bunch of money through slots or table games and at the end of the day you're diamond. From what I could tell that would cost at least $500 in -EV spend on the gambling part, plus you'd need to get to that place on that day, so maybe $1k total to achieve it that way. I could be off on that part though. For me the $350 for the Founders card seemed like the better route.

Thanks for this. I tried just getting a Caesers card and didn’t spend enough after our first trip. I think I will just get the founders card.

Worked for me. I think I had to charge something on the Wyndham card to remain eligible.

I think the Wyndam credit card would be cheaper since it's only the $95 annual fee. I didn't see any sort of minimum spend requirement to the card.

Just call them

tell them you are fucking "Jonesey07"

problem solved

Yea but sometimes an additional credit card isn’t on someone’s priority list. I have 5 right now and that’s plenty for me. I only use 3 but leave the others open for history and total credit available.

That's a valid point. I can keep this one since it would be classified as a business card and even if I just buy a pack of gum a year that seems to be enough to keep it open.

I got the business Wyndham Business card which gives you Caesar Diamond. I wouldn't say its totally worth it now compared to as previous years. The annual fee is as much as what anniversary dinner in value is. If you don't go 2-3+ times a year it really doesn't help that much aside from the few perks. There use to be a Status match merry go round loop hole that was very useful. (Feel free to youtube this they can explain it better)

You would open a Wyndham business card then you automatically get Diamond Status at Cesar. Then you would match your Cesar account status to MGM but it drops to the gold level. Then you would match that to the world of Hyatt rewards system and get explorist I think from that. Then in January you renew by working backwards matching World of Hyatt back to MGM then to Cesar in January then in February you go back the other way and you good back and forth every yeah creating that merry go round status match.

They closed the loop on this over this past summer I forget how but it's no longer available.

to answer your question there isn't any hidden gotchas it's just you will have to go to Vegas at least once a year to get your $100 worth in fees.

The video in this thread shows how you can still do the matching loophole.

Confirmation on founders card. @kmccormick100 utilized it.

I highly recommend doing this is a bit early though. You may have to go through their support to make it happen, it takes weeks at best, and they are very hit and miss with timing/availability.

Founders club membership at like $199 was worth it for the Caesar’s platinum status, between the $100 dining credit and no resort fees, you’ll recoup it in like one 3day trip. Not worth it for more than that IMO. Also MGM used to status match Gold for Platinum, but they amended it to only match Platinum+ now, and sapphire status gets you nothing at MGM, unlike gold now. Unless there’s a loophole that I’m not aware of now, I’ll check that vid.

I think with a shared link it’s $500 now.

Def not worth it then IMO.

Also - didn’t see anything in that video about MGM Gold matching loophole, afaik there’s no way to match it easily anymore - there were supposed to be some changes with the MGM/Marriott merger, but I haven’t heard any more about that, wondering if the cyberattack halted that progress.

I wish World of Hyatt was still partnered with MGM. I just hit globalist and would of been Diamond MGM. The WOH rewards are so much better than Marriott.

MGM Gold was the highest status you could get from Hyatt status match. Both Explorist and Globalist would get MGM Gold when the partnership was active. There's been no mention of a new status match between Marriott and MGM yet. You can't currently book MGM hotels on either Hyatt nor Marriott's websites (except Cosmo which was already affiliated with Marriott prior to the new partnership).

I've read repeatedly that the Wyndam match was going away, but it still seems to be live.

I think Founders card is $500 / year new unless you sign up through a link. I think milestomemories.com has a link for it for $300.

Forget Diamond status.....I need 7 star. Sadly, my poker room puts all 7 stars ahead of everyone else on the list and the PLOs games are like 50% 7 star players (most with a companion pass) which means it makes it very hard to actually get into a game if I'm not there when a new table opens. Therefore, if anyone has a 7 star companion pass that is going unused shoot me a PM :)

Thank you for this I feel better about not losing out on a higher mgm status.

I had MGM gold from the Merry go round loop hole. The free comp rooms and waived resort fee made my Vegas loss not to bad.

For anyone who finds this thread in the future: Caesar's Diamond Status may no longer be an option with founders going forward. I signed up specifically for it yesterday and the option was wiped from their website. I called the concierge and was told that there was a bit of a hiccup in meetings between the two companies. Looks like it might be permanent unless something changes this week. Who knows what happened, but I was told if it falls through with Caesar's they are going to look at getting another big casino chain involved to replace it.
