TY sir.

I will say, this set likely couldn't have been done without the GOAT, @Johnny5. I had a vision with the inlay and he was able to come up with some amazing stuff based on descriptions/pics, and after a bunch of back and forth tinkering, it really hit the sweet spot.

From all accounts (obituary - PCF thread), John was a wonderful family man and person. He clearly had a strong passion for design, especially when it involved chipping, and it shined though his numerous contributions and results. I'm honored and grateful for getting a chance to work and chat with him throughout the entire process. His laid-back nature and our shared laughs (particularly the All-In chip) throughout the project are some of the best of what chipping has to offer off the felt. He truly was the GOAT. Rest in peace good sir.
Amen to that. John was the GOAT - his work is more than well-represented in the PCF HoF.

Grateful to have been able to work with him on several projects. R.I.P.

Thanks for sharing that piece of the story. I couldn’t agree more...J5 was special. I have worked with a few great designers but he just had a way of understanding people's visions and bringing them to life that was just unparalleled. I was blessed to work with him on my last project that hasn't been brought to life yet, but hopefully when CPC gets back on their feet it will happen. I believe I was one of the very last people to work with John, and it sounds like you were as well. Definitely gives the set added meaning. :hearts:

Pretty sure that's his hand in the top-left of this pic, so he's already played on my nuttal.

Thanks! Frac was quite the interesting piece. Similar to my third post in the thread, I wanted to pay homage to the Chuck Wagon's while not really copying the exact inserts/mold/colors, so I started with this:

Then working from there, Butterscotch was something different I wanted to do as a base color on a frac, especially next to the strange gray $1. The only way to really make it work as a frac, however, was to make it as monochrome as possible, which somehow I believe Canary/Arc-Yellow/Chocolate inserts accomplished.

The more I look the more these Fracs become my favorite. If you ever decide to split a few off I'd love to buy one as a card capper.

There they are! I love seeing something different, these came out fantastic, congrats. Appreciate you giving the story behind them too, thanks for sharing.

The frac is the star of the show for me, but that $5 just might be the best red CPC $5 I’ve ever seen.

FYP.

Seems to be one of the rare „error“ chips.
Now i‘m pretty sure they punch out the spots somehow guided, but one by one.

A phrase commonly used by me in PMs is "CPC is fcking high/drunk". Either works, but their inserts definitely have a "handmade" feel to them that is quite apparent, mostly with xx18 spots (like on my CoD $25s as well). Of course, I'm weird and like it, but it deserves some ribbing.

Here was my 'first pic' of the hundos when received. Chips are still caked in chalk, but look at that top left chip and tell me if that person would pass a field sobriety test  .

These „monday morning“ chips are cool!
Clearly shows that they‘re individually assembled by hand. And there‘s a lot of spots…!

This is one of the best part about clay chips for me! They seem all the same but they‘re all a little different.

Really makes me wonder how this spot is made. I checked mine (120 chips) and ~25% have a small misalignment, ~5% have a larger misalignment and ~1-2% have a major cross-eye.

That said, love the imperfections and mine are likely more susceptible given color choices leading to more errors.

Holy . . . These are amazing Rob. Please bring these to a meet up, I wanna touchy !

Absolutely LOVE them, Top tier !

I'm certain David has said here that there is no 814 punch (which would be used to clear the spaces to plug the spots) but that he chip has to be punched twice, in this case with the 414 punch.

Same with 818, having to be punched twice with the 418 punch.

[EDIT after a search] Some info here:

Well that was a fascinating read. Basically their clay wont support v spots as is. That sucks.
