Hi! I am very new to this website, but have grown more interested in purchasing my first nice set of poker chips and a table to pair with it. I want to try out a PCF group buy to get some nice custom chips, but I am still a little confused about how everything works (the order process, the customization availability, the fees, etc.). Additionally, I am completely clueless about what kind of table to get for 6-10 player cash games (probably a foldable one). If anybody has any insight or would like to share their experiences, feel free. Thank you!

(I live in the Cleveland, Ohio area, if that makes any possible difference)

Welcome!

When you have enough posts to direct message other members, you can ask about the monthly group buy from a forum vendor, Broken Arrow Cardroom Supply (here is this month’s thread for your reference):

If you’d like to learn more about a folding table, there’s a long running thread on the popular Barrington folding table:

https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/barrington-poker-table-thread.30910/

Welcome to PCF!! Lots of good information on both chips and tables here. Do a lot of reading before you jump in and start buying and you'll have a better chance of getting what you really want/need to fit your group... Happy Hunting.

I would keep posting till you can see @justincarothers's sale threads. Recommend getting samples of the chips.
Figure out what stakes you want to host play/ your players want to play. Cash or tournament etc.
Read some of the beginners guides on here. Ask questions.

For Justin's chips you're looking at I think 47c? Per chip + a label fee ; max of $80? That can be spilt if more people buy the same label. +Shipping.

I haven't bought Tina before but I imagine 3-500$ would be enough of a Budget for a set depending on your needs.

Perfect! I will hit my post requirements and then look into the bigger threads. I knew about the monthly buy threads, but never knew there was one about tables. Thanks for your help.

Great advice. I will make sure to do my research. Thanks!

Gotcha. I've seen those a lot online. Thanks for the insight. Go Browns!

Yes, I have already looked through Justin's threads and am trying to familiarize myself with the process.

I probably will end up with samples before I purchase. Do you suggest getting samples for the specific chip itself or just assorted chips of the same mold?

Thanks for the assistance!

Specific chip if you're really picky? At least thr mold for how it feels/ looks/ stacks / shuffles. Etc

I'll take all of that into consideration. I would be open to getting a Barrington and modding it DIY-style exactly as I want. However, I might consider getting a nicer table in the first place. Thank you!
