Tourney Need breakdown help (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone,

I am very intersted in buying this set: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/ept-tribute-tournament-500-chip-set-x-3-new-price.89787/ for my tourney.

I like to run two tables of 8 people. Would this be enough chips to support 16 people if so what should the break downs be per stack and blind strucutre?

Breakdown:
T100 x 200
T500 x 150
T1000 x 75
T5000 x 50
T10000 x 25

Yeah it’s plenty but the totals are a little inefficient. For example giving everyone 10x100 to start means you’re wasting the other 40. Same with the 1k you can give everyone 4 and have 11 leftover, ideally you’d want to give everyone 5. So you might need to get a little creative with the starting stacks. 10/8/5 for 11 players and 10/10/4 for the other 5 players gives you 10k each and fits in the set using 160/138/75. Top off with however many 5k and 10k you need for however big you want the stacks. 2/1 would be good to make 25k total stack.

There are lots of options for blind structure depending on how long you want the game to go. A 2 table tournament should go around 5-6 hours IMO. To hit that you’d have 20 minute levels. 100/200, 100/300, 200/400, 300/600, 500/1000, 700/1400, 2 hour mark, quick break and remove 100s from play. 1000/2000, 1000/2500, 1500/3000, 3 hour mark remove 500s. 2000/4000, 3000/6000, 4000/8000, 4 hour mark remove 1000s. 5000/10000, 5000/15000, 10000/20000. There’s room in there for extra levels for a longer game, or kick some out / shorten levels for a quicker game.


Edit: I think I figured out the best way to get all the chips in play. 8 players get 10/10/4/3, 7 players get 15/9/4/3, 1 player gets 15/7/5/3 for 25k each and a total of 200/150/65/48. You have 10x1k and 2x5k leftover which totals 20k and can be used to color up the 100s. Then you still have your whole bank of 10ks available for the future color ups.
