“Clay” chips are just a more brittle kind of plastic. It might make more sense to differentiate among all these plastic chips — of really unknown composition — by the presence or absence of mold impressions or inlays.

I’d rather base my trade/sell/hold decisions on personal connections and experiences, plus potential use, rather than what’s hot with a comparatively very small group of collectors at any given point in time.

I do own a few nice “clay” sets, but I can tell you that the very last chips out my door will be Grand Casino Mullet Bay BJ CiCs...

Ymmv, of course...

It depends how you view them. Some people actually like Bud Jones chips.

No reason to over complicate it.. Paulson, TRK, CPC, BCC, etc = clay chips / Bud Jones, Matsui, etc = plastic chips

I like plastic chips myself, and am still a bit disappointed that I couldn’t jump on the recent matsui gb. I was merely making a light hearted jest about giving up those ES chips.

You will also need to fill out a CBP 5106-Individual Dept of Homeland Security / Customs form and have it ready for FedEx else the shipment will get held up in Customs. I would just create a FedEx account and get it on file with them prior to ordering. There will be some import tax but its not a lot. Under $50 probably.
