I wanted to see if any one would be able to answer some questions about some poker chips I acquired. I believe they are mother of pearl and have tested that based on what I have found online. They are heavier then plastic, make a clicking sound like glass and are cool to the touch. I have attached photos of the chips, case and tag inside the case. Any information about these chips including value, year made etc..would be greatly appreciated.

Von Lengerke & Detmold was an upscale sporting goods / gentleman's retailer in the 1920s. Games and guns for people like Teddy Roosevelt or Charles Lindbergh. Since Von Lengerke & Detmold was acquired in 1928 by Abercrombie & Fitch, this set would predate 1928.

I have no earthly idea what it would be worth today. My specialty (and former job as a museum docent) was 1920-1940 America. It's a hellavua find, and if you ever decide to let it go shoot me a line.

Thank you so much for the reply and the helpful information. I am trying to gather information on the set for a possible sell. However don't want to under value what I have. Sadly the set does not seem to be complete as it is only 368 chips. Would you or anyone have an idea where to start on the value of the set.

I think @David Spragg has some experience with collectible chips from the time period, though I don't know why I think this. Call it a read. Mine are usually wrong.

I wouldn't be too quick to sell this without some solid research on value. If I had to guess - $800 to $1,600 but it is an uninformed guess.

Thank you so much for the info. I am totally not quick to sell until I have a full understanding of the value and what I have.
